Your channel and the Kreg jig made me go from building nothing to building all my kids beds, a media cabinet, the garage shelves, bookshelves, the Adirondack chair, and a trombone stand to name a few! All from your plans except the trombone stand and used your skills and the kreg to design that. Once you realize you can join wood together in a way that is strong and not complicated (like biscuit joiner etc.) you can go to town! So thank you!

I love this video for the teaching, Ana, because it helps a newbie like me to gain some much-needed confidence. Thank you! I been using the Kreg 320 for over a year, I had wanted to try it out at entry level price, I been wanting the 720 Pro set for months now and finally saw a sale so today I bought it! I bought an old farm house last year that was built in 1939. The previous owner had gutted out the kitchen and bath but then decided it was too much cost and work for them. So I have a blank slate to work with and although I wish they would have left the old cabinets I have decided to invest in more tools and build my own thanks to you. I grew up and worked mostly in the construction industry much of my life. I been watching your channel for many years, thanks for being there to inspire and share your knowledge. The Kreg jig makes projects much faster than traditional type woodworking joints that I had learned before but those take so long, and require much more skill and use expensive tools to accomplish. The first thing I used the Kreg 320 for last year was a gate I made from 1x4 and it's still working well in the garden area. I can't hardly wait to start using this 720 Pro.

I really needed this. I never knew what kind of screws to purchase. Each time I go to the hardware store, I get overwhelmed by the various types of screws and end up leaving.
@AnaWhiteDIY3 жыл бұрын
This is the only type I buy anymore - star bit or "torq head" - it's too frustrating to use other types of screws and I waste too much wood by splitting it out.
@joyscranfield55273 жыл бұрын
When you made the inset screw sample, you put screw on each end WOULD it have been a stronger joint if you had added a 3rd screw on opposite side in the middle? Really love your videos & learn something from each of them.

What would make it stronger is adding glue, adding a 3rd screw is not necessary. Thanks for watching!

1. Screws.....you can screw into a 1"x1" if you pre-drill.....and if one wants they could dip the screw into wax before drilling to help with splitting the wood. 2. Nail Gun....I thought Ryobi (any tool) is for beginners? And if you use glue with the brad nails you should be fine for most things...glue is stronger than the wood. 3. Pocket Holes....You said "the pocket hole method is be beginner woodworkers with limited skills", then why do you use pocket holes Ana? I personally try to find other ways of joinery before even thinking pocket holes...Yes I hate pocket holes! But love you and your channel

I'm behind on my videos Ana. Trying to catch up. I loved the demo of this video. When I get ready to redo my camper, BC of ruff leaks, I'm going to becoming to your playlist to show me how to build stuff like kitchen set, bed set, lofts, & on & on. I'm going to have to pay an electrician though. I'm not that skilled yet. Only if my Dad was alive & grandpa they could of helped me. Maybe I'll summons them for there help. Do you think that's possible? I sure don't want the devil to show up. That's not going to fly. But maybe their spirit will come to me when I'm resting & walk me through everything. I sure will tell you if that happens. If you don't mind? I'm a little crazy, but I'm harmless. I guess you've got to be a little crazy to attempt fixing your camper with no experience. Right? IDK...... but am going to try. Have a great & wonderful day, be safe, & God bless, Chris from Missouri

Ana, I read that panhead screws are a cheaper alternative to pocket holes screws. Would you agree or do you only recommend pocket hole screws ?
@rogersinasohn32503 жыл бұрын
Isn't screwing into endgrain a fairly weak joint? As I understand it, in such a situation, the fibers of the wood run parallel to the screw and can compress, allowing the screw to come out. This is why pocket holes are a much better option -- screwing from the piece whose end is attaching to another allows the screws to go into the face of the other piece, where the fibers are then perpendicular to the screw, allowing the threads to grab onto them much better.
@AnaWhiteDIY3 жыл бұрын
Yes pocket holes are a better, but I haven’t had issues with screwing into 2x end grains with good screws. Our farmhouse coffee table is still going strong and my kids literally jump on and off it everyday. It really just depends I the application. We do try in plans to give best recommendations (which is usually pocket holes) 😂

@rogersinasohn32503 жыл бұрын
Regular wood screws shouldn't be used for pocket holes. PH Screws have a flat head (on the screw side) that stops the screw at the shoulder of the hole. Regular screws have slopes and the screw can go right through the shoulder and split your wood.
@judyl.76111 ай бұрын
If you add wood glue, then the joint is much stronger. 😊

That kreg jig could be a whole video of its own. I have a kreg jig and wonder if they refer to actual size wood and not what it is supposed to be...i.e. 1" x 4" is not really 1" thick. So would i use the 3/4" size instead?
@AnaWhiteDIY3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend testing on a scrap piece for those thicknesses that aren't exact, the collar on the bit can be adjusted to a bit less or more when that applies. Thanks for watching!
