Jaby guessed it correctly. It is a biblical journey. It is almost like a guy turns into a god kinda idealogy. Also the title anbe sivam means "god is love". Also the title represents the names of the two main character "Anbarasu" and "Nallasivam", hence Anbe Sivam (Anbu from Anbarasu and Sivam from Nallasivam). Also the movie talks abt capitalist and the communist idealogy which you wld have noticed when reading the subtitles. Also Kamal Haasan wld hav made a lotta predictions. He wld hav mentioned a large wave swept his father and this movie came in the year 2003. The following year we had the IndoAsian Tsunami of 2004. Also you wld predominantly see the colours black and red representing socialism, communism and atheism. This films characters are also inspired from the 1987 movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It's a beautiful movie, as I said earlier it's way ahead of time.❤️❤️

The name of the movie is a play on words of the name of the characters. Madhavan’s name is Anbarasu and Kamal Hassan’s name is Nallasivam.. making the name Anbe Sivam.. which translates to “love is god”. An actual factoid on the movie, Mr.Hassan is a well known atheist and probably has socialistic leanings in his personal philosophy.
