You know both of them were in love with Tanu so when Raja Awasthi couldn't get Tanu so he found Kusum who looks like Tanu. Now that Manu (The husband) is separated from Tanu so he too found someone (Kusum) who looks like Tanu. So basically Kusum is being used like a second choice because she looks like someone and both the men wanted her. But neither of them love Kusum. In this Kusum is the innocent victim.

A lot of meaning of dialouges is getting missed in translation. And the comedy in this movie is highly related to Northern cultural nuances. People from Haryana, Delhi region understand it the best. People from himachal, punjab, j&k, north-west UP will also relate to the region specific comedy here. Indians from places other than the ones mentioned won't get it as good. You would not understand why this movie is hilarious. Kusum is a typical tomboyish character based on haryanavi women(usually haryanvi jaat women). Everything from the teeth, the short hair, the aggression, the unintentionally being funny to her light skin/straight features phenotype and being sporty is inspired from that.

Big fan here , i really like your watchalong movie reaction videos and i want to highly recommend a movie , called ' Sanam Teri Kasam ' it was released in 2016 , both the actors made debut in this movie , and it is really a touching emotional romantic movie , it is very underrated but such an amazing movie.
