Anbernic 35xx Plus Review - What nobody told you about it

Should look at better sources, then. Retro Game Corps introduced me to the system and his videos are thorough. I have seen some other videos that don't go into a lot of depth and are a bit like sugary cereal in terms of useful content. Kind of interesting flavor, but ultimately not very filling.

I've got to say the sound in this video is incredible. I was watching on my phone in the car with a very good stereo, when listening to the emulation device I thought the sound was coming from my phone for a minute. Before I realized that the sound had more mids than my phone can reproduce. I feel confident I have a good idea how the device sounds in the room. Good Job!!!

If you want to save the video settings: push menu button > quick menu > overrides > save content directory overrides

The override is in Manage Core Options now and they get reset everytime you leave RetroArch. This is the latest January update. I am think of downgrading.

So here's an issue with the RetroArch filters on this device (they're CPU-driven and thus different from GPU shaders): If you change the settings too many times, RetroArch will be abruptly shut down. Didn't know what was the issue until I turned on RAM usage monitor in the "notification visibility" menu. Apparently changing this eats up RAM. Turning off bilinear CPU filter also eats up RAM. If all 900MB available RAM is taken up, RetroArch quits.

2:30 Really depends on the system you get. I actually only have bubbles at the bottom-right and a slight bit on the bottom left that I don't notice while playing with the screen on. This was after I removed the Anbernic-provided screen protector and after my first attempt where I removed it and re-applied it (still had its adhesive, thankfully) to get rid of a single annoying bubble I let get in towards the center. But yeah, if you can't handle that you can always just not use the screen protector. They're great for extra protection, but you really don't want to drop this system to begin with. It *will* ruin your screen regardless, and I don't see many scenarios where the screen would get damaged otherwise, unless you're being careless. I'm keeping mine on because I'm not bothered by its current state and I want to prevent any potential scratches, but it's mostly just my obsessive need to keep the original screen as clean and scratch-free as possible because that's how I am. Should be noted that I did Adjust the position of my screen protector lower than it was before because that meant no real bubbles on top at the edges, but even in that case, there is no way I would have had nearly as bad as what you have in the video, so it must just be a quirk of some of the screens, where they're a bit more round. Not unheard of in the 3rd-party handheld sphere where quality varies from device to device, even in the same exact model.

The rg353p is still my favorite handheld. It offers a lot for the price. And what makes the biggest difference is Arkos which is really near perfect. If a port of Arkos appears one day one the rg35xx / rg35xx+, then I think we may have a fantastic little handheld. In the meantime, Koriki can be used.

9:45 That's really more RetroArch problem than firmware problem. Sure you can try to navigate to a setting where this autosaves but the config and overrides will ONLY be saved the drive if it's actually closed from the menu

Do the Dreamcast games run in 240P or 480p. Some of these lower end consoles try to cheat and will make the Dreamcast games run in 240P so they run better, but it looks so blurry. Also, after you turn the game on and the image is stretched, wouldn’t you be able to just put it on integer scale and then save the configuration inside of retroarch so that it no longer starts with a stretched screen? Man your videos are really good on this. I think you should do more on these handheld emulators.

What really baffles me in terms of easy button mapping is still RetroArch itself. It seems that not custom/stock firmware devs could ever get to an agreement with button mappings on the RetroArch menu and button combos NEVER got customizable - if the devs decided this button combo is how you open a menu and compiled a button config, that's it, you're stuck with it. The RG353p didn't need to deal with this because most configurations are in the EmulationStation menus, and this frontend valiantly attempted to make menu navigation as foolproof as possible.

Mine too. I think maybe they sent him a bigger screen protector. My Anbernic RG35XX Plus screen protector is smaller than the handheld's screen. I had my wife hold it in the center of the screen while I taped the top of the screen protector to the top of the console before I pulled on the protector's remove tab. probably your screen protector is plastic which is flexible and can fit the screen better, mine's glass

@@VKsChannel I used the proper screen protector provided by Anbernic. I don't know if the Anbernic RG35XX Plus ships with a plexiglass (Or similar type of glass hybrid.) screen protector or a sand-based glass screen protector. If you used a third party's screen protector try removing it and using the one that Anbernic provided instead. I hope this helps to resolve the problem you are having an improper fit.

I'm just pissed that they are a big company and they can't figure out how to find someone in the community to hire on in their company that could actually come up with a really amazing stock os! The developers of Garlic and Onion can't be the only living beings that can develop this stuff. Companies do it every day. They hire out and get qualified people to fix things. Anbernic, Powkiddy, all of them. It's been a couple of years since these devices got pretty big. There's just no excuse.

I have the R36S, RG35XX, RG35XX Plus and the Myioo Mini Plus. They are all very similar in terms of display, but the Myioo has the best buttons, the RG35XX (Plus) is also OK, but the R36S clicks so loudly that you should only put it in the restroom... By default, the devices also run differently with or without TV lines... this makes it optically darker/brighter, but can be changed as shown in the video

Keeping the original is preferred and no need to upgrade. The Plus is better for those who don't have a handheld emulator yet or planning to set up one for gifting.

Check the configuration on the anbernic os There is an option called simple menus or easy menus If this is activated it will hide the shader options as these are more advanced settings

My glass protector that came with the console fits perfectly. Has same border as yours too, goes up to but not over the curves so adheres correctly with no halo . Great video by the way 👍

dude , the software is crap, check out the scrolling on for example the PC ENGINE game son son 2 , it is jerky as hell, not smooth, even in RA. there is something wrong with the software !!!

Scrolling problems in games is generally picture configuration, enable interger scalling and check your shader settings, the only one viable is phosphorlut
