It's universal! It's not limited heterosexual people. To say so, is going beyond what God says.

What you keep on saying is that marriage is a religious institution. It is not. If it was just about religion, try marrying without a marriage license, which gives you the benefits that marriage gives. Civil marriage has nothing to do with religion. This kind of marriage is recognized by the state. And I believe that is what LGBT activists are fighting for.

If the bible verses have a deeper meaning, then why do we pick and choose the things that should be interpreted literally and ones that has a "deeper" meaning? Marriage is not just about religion. We have what we call a "civil marriage", which is a marriage recognized by the state. I think that this is what most same sex couple want. In the end, the state recognize that marriage, by giving marriage licenses. The Philippines is a secular country, and we have the separation of church and state.

What's so immoral about two people of the same sex who are in love and in a committed relationship getting married? The bible also says that having a haircut is wrong (Leviticus 19:27). It also says that eating shellfish is wrong (Leviticus 11:12), but why aren't we protesting about these, even though it was written in the bible?

God has the power to love us unconditionally and never underestimate that power. I hope God gives the power to discern to change the things that can be changed and the things that cannot be changed. There is not scientific proof that sexual orientation can be changed. By doing so, you risk the person's mental health and you're destroying his soul. Don't say God is impotent because you're regret it. God hears you! Repent and never blaspheme again!

@357archangel What sin caused the homosexuality, as you say? And where in that passage, the word "homosexual" was used? With regards to genes, it's still being debated in the scientific community if it's really from the genes or not.

Nakakalungkot talaga dahil may mga taong kagaya mo na makitid ang pag-iisip at kuntento na lamang si sinasabi ng karamihan o ng kanyang pastor. You're stagnant in your knowledge. Neutral naman talaga ang sex. Depende sa tao kung gagamit sa masama (kagaya ng rape) o sa mabuti (in the context of mutual loving relationship)

If you don't like same sex marriage, then don't marry someone of the same sex, but we should not deny same sex couples their right to marry if they want, especially if they're not hurting anyone. Same sex couples also deserve the right to marry.

@357archangel It is in our Constitution the right to choose who we love and the State, like the developed countries, should uphold it. There are heterosexual people who are nice to us, but there are also who treat us not as humans. The State needs to protect us. God's word says, "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." 1 John 4: 16 This is not our words as well. God never said you cannot love someone of the same sex.

when we talk of marriage here it is treated as a social institution supplemented by a religious one not vice-versa. legalizing same sex marriage would entail its recognition thus meriting it the benefits that a family should get as mandated by law. we can't keep thinking of marriage as a religious institution alone since it would hinder the progress of social reforms that would benefit all & would only cater to the few who cling to specific beliefs. the law is above religion & personal beliefs.

Bago ang verses na yan, it was written: "Claiming to be wise, they became fools; and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles." Romans 1: 22-23 In reading the Bible, we need to understand the context. This was in the context of idolatry. They do temple sex to worship not the true God, but a fertility God. There's nothing here that talks about same-sex love.

very interesting topic! whatever they believe in, i think it should be respected in one way or another it's their faith. Love happens anytime you feel it and choose it. It didn't specify in that passage what kind of love it's referring to, so don't specify it. Stick to what is written. Don't twist it. We may have a majority of Catholics in the Philippines, but Roman Catholicism is not the official religion of the country. Everyone has their own beliefs, and that's why we have the separation of church and state to make sure we have that right. Not everyone believes in your belief, so why do we have to conform to it by not making gay marriage legal?

Well, that's your belief, and I respect that. I also believe in the sanctity of marriage. That's why I don't agree with adultery, month long marriage, etc. Marriage is a bond. I believe that same sex marriage is a good thing, and it needs to be legalized. For me, it's morally right, if it's a loving and committed couple. If you don't believe in it, you don't need to partake into it, but same sex couples should be given the right to do so, if they want to.

Is not true that you're contented with how you're church has interpreted the Bible? Since when is it a sin for someone to love truthfully someone who happens to be of the same-sex? @357archangel I always say that we will all face our maker someday and my only concern is to keep true to what my conscience dictates, whether any denomination agrees with me or not. Still, I hope that one day the stigma that is attached to being a homosexual or with respect to same sex unions will be a thing of the past, similar to slavery, women as property and racism.
