99% of CEOs have too much on the line to be able to speak honestly about the status of their industry and their own corporation. CEO's job is also to be a cheerleader, because if the CEO does not believe in their future, forget about the rest of the people in the org and all the traders looking to short the company in a weaken state. Fake it until you make it (or bankruptcy, whichever comes first).
