I’m from the US here with my Filipino wife (15yrs) visiting family and traveling around the Philippines out of Iloilo. I mean no disrespect as I love the country and people of the Philippines. I see the present condition of the Philippines and listening to the social, economic and political crisis affecting the average Filipino. I urge caution with this new president of yours. There are many danger signs on the horizon which will leave the people in little better situation than they are now if not worse. Marcos seems intent on expanding his power and using wealthy foreign businesses to help solidify that power. I know that my country is intent on challenging a rising China and are positioning our military to use the Philippines as a base of operations. Similar to how they are using Ukraine to contain Russia. I have watch on our media sessions of our congress talk of being prepared for war with China by 2027. Remember the lessons of WWII because the US will walk away from the Philippines if it is in their interest. China is a powerful and dangerous neighbor but one in your back yard and must be lived with. In the US we live far away and insulated from the conflicts we start and then abandon. I pray for your future 🙏
