I was feeling a little home sick and stumble onto this gem.I find it interesting that 3 people in my family did the Ancestry DNA test and the countries of Nigeria, Benin Togo, Ghana, Senegal, and Mali showed up respectively.It seem that St.Kittian gene pool may have a lot of DNA from these countries especially Benin Togo, Nigeria and Mali being very distant.

i'm from Curacao my results showed that I am 49% african i was expecting at least 60%, being black i would prefer my dna being over 50%. My results were 18% being Cameroon and Congo , 9% Mali, 8% ivory coast and Ghana, 7% Benin and Togo, 2% Nigeria, 2% Senegal, 2% south eastern bantu and

My grandmother was raped by a white tourist and my father was the product of it. About 25% of my DNA would be from that man and i am only 29% european so most of my european dna would most likely comes from him and the rest from colonialism. i understand that DNA is random, and looking at extremes i could've inherited 45% of my african from my father and only 5% of my european from my father even through he is around 50/50 because its random but i doubt that because my mother is pretty much all native american on her fathers side, native Venezuelan to be precise with some african in there a few generations back and her mother is black. my mother is most likely only has only 5-15% european. My father does not claim his european so i do not claim it as well.

how am i not black? my father is half black and my mother is half black? i don't know where you live but in america and Curacao i am seen as a black man and i am treated like a black man. Especially in america, here i am seen as just a light skin black man. Bob marly is seen as black even through he is mixed, drake is seen as black even through he is mixed, Obama is called the first black US president even through he is mixed all of them are atleast 50% white, all are more white than i am so how are they black and i am not? i am more african than european and i am more african than native american. The man on the right in this video looks like he could be my father he's skin tone and features are similar and is he not a black man?

also i do not blame all white people for his actions. i just know from family history there has been no marriage or relationship between a white man or woman and any of my African or Venezuelan ancestors so the mixture is all by force. and i do not hate white people i just do not claim being one. my brother is dating a white woman and she is welcomed in our family. and if he decided to marry her and have children their children will be half white in my eyes nothing more than half no matter whatever their DNA might say. and if my sister or other brother have children with white people i will welcome them too and acknowledge their other side because it wasnt added on by force

one final question, i was engaged to a woman and her family was from Tanzania. if her and i had children you would consider them mixed since i am not black? ... most likely not because they would most likely look like medium brown skin black children

Alot of us have a some percentage of European due to slave massa in between granny's legs more than grandpa. I only care about my African side I hope to do mine soon and will be heartbroken if I'm not at least 70% African because that's all that matters to me when it comes to DNA.
