Thoroughly enjoyed this branding session. Three generations, quite an honour to see this. My goodness the middle boys are growing so tall and lean, while the younger gang is getting long in the leg lol. Where did the babes in diapers go? Oh… they’re roping and branding now!! Great team work , this was so much fun to watch . Brought back sweet memories of deafening bawls, choking dust , smell of burnt hides, blood and sweat. Ah, those are the memories. Blessings to all.

And lunch snack is on the branding box. Ridge and Rhett are definitely full fledged boys. Great head and heal shots. Good to see Rio working cattle, he’s been busy building engines and welding a new branding iron. Laura and Her dad had the meds going. Happy Mother’s Day Laura, you are truly amazing. Your dogs work so good even in a pack they listen to you. Shared this with a friend who trains attack dogs and is now training a little aussie to herd. Love ABR, how is Ram’s mission? 💕🤗From East Texas

On a ranch I used to work on I found a butt load of 1/8" braded cable that the military used to tow drones with airplanes for target practice (in the fifties?) I gathered up a bunch of it and had VERY LONG pieces tied to every corral gate with water on the ranch. Drive up slow and if anything was in the corral I wanted just slam the gate. There was no live water on the ranch. Easy money!

Did you get the Cummins in the ford? Something you can do on the catch gate is put a automatic gate opener. Just keep remote in your pocket and close it. Pen those and then load more.

I like your gate trap. The smarter cows don't fall for it, though. Do you send the smarter cows to auction, and keep the dumb, gullible ones who are easier to trap and trick? Or do you keep the clever ones, who might be more able to thrive, and keep themselves safe and fed, out in the mountains and desert? 🐄
