Until the overthrow of Monarchy in Nepal, Buddhist were treated as second class as Hinduism believe in Caste. So Buddhist were forbidden to take jobs in govt and were made to do manual labour jobs

Many temples in Nepal are both Hindu and Buddhist temples, and the people there, regardless of any religion they follow, are still visiting both temples.

@@rahulmagar4004 yeah Shah dynasty at the beginning was great as it unified the country and secured the territories but later they couldn't progress in any areas or even rule with power for over 100 years due to Rana autocracy. It's republic democracy now and slowly people are getting aware and taking initiations themselves

@@rahulmagar4004 yeah.. it is being preserved better there. It shall only be brought back if Nepal government prioritizes in their preservation and promote the original Newari Buddhism which have been suppressed and overshadowed by Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal
