To make it clear for those who are now sad about kurdish heritage being exposed: Names like Mitanni , Hurri, Gutti, Medes, Parthians, Corduene...etc, are the names of the past empires which belongs to Kurds. All these people were Kurds, but their empires had other names, since the nation state principe was not a thing back then. Assyria for example was an ancient empire which initially was created by Akkadians (which were a group of people like Kurds are), but their empire was called Assyria (Ashur) because their first city was called Ashur, therefore they called the empire Ashur too. So there is no ethnicity called Assyrians. That would be like calling the people from the third reich "Thirdreichiens" rather than Germans
