Growing Up Without Borders

Күн бұрын

Join us for a super exciting adventure as we go ziplining through an ancient native forest near Rotorua.
For this activity, we teamed up with Rotorua Canopy Tours, which was named the #1 Nature Activity in the World and the 11th Best Experience in the World overall by Tripadvisor. For more information, visit their website at www.canopytours.co.nz/.
On arrival we were given an overview of the tour and short training, and after we geared up, we started heading towards the forest.
The tour started by walking across a suspension bridge leading to the ziplines.
The whole experience was so much more than just ziplining through the forest. Our fantastic tour guides taught us about the flora and fauna indigenous to the forest and even allowed us to feed the native birds. They literally ate out of our hands. Amazing!
Then it was time for our first zipline, and we were more than ready to go! We were all super excited for the 50-meter-high zipline that followed. Luckily, our guides made us feel safe and secure the entire time.
Next, from a super high zipline, we moved onto a head-spinning tree walk. We had never done something as crazy as this, but no one backed out!
The tree walk ended on a platform where we learned about New Zealand pests and continued on to the longest zipline, measuring 400m in length!. Actually, this was a double zipline, perfect for racing, and obviously, we had to take the opportunity, right?
Across another suspension bridge, we found ourselves at a rest point that also educated us on New Zealand pests that endanger the forest and how they are trapped.
Kiwis put a lot of effort into restoring the local forests to their condition 200 years ago, and they are making significant progress.
All too soon our adventure was coming to an end, and we needed to climb up to the last zipline. It was a pretty demanding climb, so if you are planning on doing this activity, make sure you can climb at least six flights of stairs.
At the top, we found out that we had climbed a tree about 800 to 1000 years old, which is about 8-10 times older than the New Zealand nation. Mindblowing!
Sadly, that meant our ziplining adventure was over, but at least we descended to the ground like true spies. Lol!
We’d like to thank Rotorua Canopy Tours for giving us such a unique experience that we will never forget.

I hope you realise that you are all some of the best ambassadors New Zealand has ever had! The only good thing about covid is that you were stranded here! Heartfelt thanks for sharing your adventures as well as you're beautifully balanced outlook on life! 👍🏻💕
