Man i love your videos. I have been playing masterduel since waaaaay before the new support dropped, and it was a nightmare surviving to an ash or an impermanence, thats why i stopped playing, cause i refused to play anything than AG. Now i came back, and i have to say that i tried countless ag deck builds: handtraps yes/no, boardbreakers yes/no, commander + duel etc etc and all i have to say is that the ultimate build for this deck is the one of the video that you uploaded a month ago. Being a one engine card deck, we need to maximise the chance of drawing that fortress or statue. I see, gameciel is a good boardbreaker but droplets is enough. We don't have to stop anything, we have to survive to the negates and bring out the chaos giant, and that's game. Also triple tactics + thrust are a must in 3x because we can draw 2+, essential for dead hands that happen quite often. I tried playing handtraps and i assure you that you will brick 2000% more than using just maxx c and droplets. I am currently trying to reach diamond and for now with your build i am COOKING HARD

@@lucabogoncelli9701 Thanks, glad I could help with my vids 😁 I’ve also played some old school AG and was coping on stuff like A Hero Lives+Elemental Hero Prisma, copying Golem for a triple attack Megaton xD For me it was also a hard time deciding which build i like best with the new support, the pure boardbreaker version was definitely cooking last month. But i think in Tenpai Format a couple of handtraps shouldn’t hurt, at least something like Effect Veiler to stop them from outing turn 1 Chaos Giant with Black Rose Moonlight Dragon.

@@h0xtinator i have never seen a tenpai being able to summon a black rose moonlight dragon in my turn when i'm attacking with the chaos giant.. how is this possible? for the handtraps.. yes they are powerful but if i put something more than maxx c and droplets, i brick cause my hand gets full of handtraps and no engines.. it happens to brick even without them.. masterduel is scripted 100% lol

I always try to end on Chaos Giant when that happens, but a smart Tenpai player could out it with generic synchro’s, against which something like Veiler could be pretty neat. I’m trying to cook up a list rn that finds a nice balance between handtraps+boardbreakers. I guess for more consistency you could also run Gear Frame, but it’s basically worse Wyvern 😅

Haha yup once you go gearchad you can't go back. Yes everyone is going to assume you play Tenpai if you choose going second and leaving the field empty against them is suicide.

Thanks, yup not a big fan of Tenpai dropping this early... Guess i'll have to cook something up for turn 1 plays too. Chaos Giant might unironically be pretty annoying for them, with all their battle phase monster effects negated xD

Huh, watching these plays, i guess using Black Goat on the Ballista was a good play on my part. It kept from making my 6k Red Super Nova getting made into a 0 ATK punching bag...

Yea Ballista is a big chokepoint, stopping it's search effect also hurts. Calling Dark Golem could also be good, depending on the board state.

Everyone is getting ready for Tenpai, only 16 cards for the Tenpai engine and the other 24 are non engine cards a.k.a board breakers and handtraps. I am playing Tenpai for almost 1 month and something in Dueling Nexus and i have prepared for the coming of the Tenpai. 14.5K gems plus 210 UR dust should be enough to build the deck and just start destroying Yubel and SEFK decks on Ranked

That's a lot of gems, nice! Yea it's going to be crazy, i'm afraid Ancient Gears will just become Tenpai at home 😅 How effective do you think Turn 1 Chaos Giant would be against Tenpai? They can probably out it with a generic link/synchro, but do they have enough gas to OTK after that i wonder 🤔

@@h0xtinator To be honest with you i was thinking about that 2 hours ago when i saw a video about AG in youtube and i realised that it will be hard for Tenpai to OTK them if they bring Chaos Giant in out turn and with the protection of their spell so i was thinking to run into my Tenpai 18 handtraps including Ogre and Droplet and to use 6 board breakers, 2 Raigeki, 3 Lightning Storm and Feather Dust. This way the chances will be very hight to wipe out the field on my turn and to OTK them but thats is up to RNG and luck so pretty much the most hard duels will be against AG for Tenpai

I'll be summoning Chaos Giant+Almiraj (for protection) then against Tenpai turn 1 😈Chaos Giant is not protected by Fortress on the following turn btw. Fortress only gives Ancient Gears protection on the turn they're summoned. So you could still out him with monster effects in the main phase.

@@h0xtinator well actually i have seen AG players summoning their Chaos Giant in the opponent turn with their trap so it can be protected by fortres. I don’t know if i am correct or not but i think that if you destroy fortes even after the AG monster is summoned then the protection is off. Almiraj will be a problem actually if the tenpai player doesn’t have Called by the grave in their hand

@@h0xtinator But anyway if the tenpai player summons Paidra, Chundra and Fadra then they dont take Battle Damage and the Dragons cannot be destroyed by battle so they can attack 3 times and then summon the lvl 7 Synchro and after that the lvl 10 synchro and after that Trident Dragon to destroy the field spell and one of the Synchro dragons and the field spell will give the boost of atk to Trident to go for OTK

@@h0xtinator😂 man only board breakers or hand traps can help you against Tenpai. Trust me if the 3 Tenpai Dragons are summoned in field uninterrupted then is game over for Ancient Gears, no matter what you do Tenpai will OTK you

I got to d2 with Ancient Gears in the first day faced 2 tenpai and beat 1 cuz he i won coin toss, next day i deranked all the way to d4 because of tenpai, yubel Kashtira F slurs. The worst deck made by Konami in a long time. They have Black Rose Dragon and little knight as an easy out for Chaos Giant too.

@crazyd3mon968 Yeah, a lot of setup is required to make the OTK and it's very susceptible to specific handtraps (something that Tenpai is foolproof and can play over with)I think part of the problem is that we're relying on old cards (Chaos Giant is powercreeped by modern standards) what they need is either a retrain of him or a cheap Sangen type autowin field spell.

I have been robbed of a victory with this deck so much. Chaos Giant is a 2016 boss monster and it shows how outdated he is. Doesn't help that half my matches are Yubels and Mikankos players who i need to pray that i draw an out or just instalose. The deck is fun to play with but the setup and luck required to actually win is frustrating.

Well i would say Chaos Giant is still very good at OTK'ing.. But yea you do really need to open some non-engine against decks like Yubel. That's why i like running a crazy amount of boardbreakers instead of the more bricky cards like Commander/Duel/OG Golem.

I also have my problems against Yubel, but I've found something there. The Forbidden Drop makes a big difference. And I changed a lot of things in my extra deck to make it easy to get the Yubel cards off the field. The only problem is that you often have to play through a lot of negations, sacrifices and destruction. But it's doable.

Yea Yubel is probably the hardest match-up, opening Droplet certainly makes it easier. You do have to be careful when you activate Droplet against Yubel though, if you send more cards then they control monsters it will not resolve. Learned that the hard way when a Yubel player chained the Unchained trap to Droplet and destroyed his own monsters 😅

@@h0xtinator OG Golem, you have the Dark Golem which becomes the original on the field and can be used with the duel or the fusion. Only overload fusion doesn't work because it can only use darkness fusions.

@@elderwillow555 I know, i just don't run OG Golem (and Commander+Duel) because i kept bricking on them 😅But they are definitely good for giving you more OTK options.
