You uploaded a video titled "Ancient Kimchi" on KZbin, but kimchi is not a Chinese dish, and the kimchi you made is not prepared in an ancient way. Kimchi containing red pepper powder was introduced to the Korean Peninsula during the Joseon Dynasty after the Imjin War (Japanese invasions of Korea in the late 16th century). Ancient kimchi was typically in the form of dongchimi or water kimchi, which has a transparent appearance and does not contain red pepper powder. Furthermore, I understand that China has turbid water and severe dust storms, making it difficult to have a culture of eating raw vegetables. Did you intentionally create a misunderstanding by titling the video "Ancient Kimchi" as if kimchi is originally part of the culture of the Han Chinese, which could be seen as cultural appropriation? If you are suggesting that this is a traditional culture of the Joseonjok (Korean Chinese), I would like to clarify that this is not true. The Joseonjok are descendants of those who migrated to China during the modernization period when Korea was under Japanese rule; while it is correct that their ancestors came from the Korean Peninsula, it does not mean that they hold all rights to the unique culture of Korea.
