The Ghaya archaeological village sits on the volcanic Tahwi mountain on an altitude of more than 700 meters. The village boasts of a few houses, a water well, and a mosque. The houses and the mosque are built of hard stones and are roofed with mud and the wood of tamarisk trees. The inhabitants had abandoned the village since decades ago, but it is still enjoying a magnificent view amidst the gray volcanic mountain and the green trees. The village of Ghaya is located in the Khat center in Al-Majardah governorate, Aseer region, some 160 km away from the city of Abha.
