Wow I wish I had caught the live show. I relate to this so much. I was in the occult for 15 years before Christ rescued me. I was deep in witchcraft and new age. I was also very into healing trauma, because of my past and then tried to help other women heal through bodywork, somatic and new age spiritually rituals. I was obsessed with menstruation as satan deceived me into believing I could heal myself through offering my blood to the earth. What I really needed was the blood of Jesus. It was strange but I would share with other women rituals about this and more so they could “heal.” 5 years ago my husband and I received Christ and ended up in Protestant churches. We didn’t find the Orthodox Church until last year. Three days ago we were baptized into the Orthodox Church 🎉 I cried as I received my first holy communion, realizing this is what I had been searching for my whole life. I have SO much peace and True healing now with the living God. I am eternally grateful. Bless you sister, I look forward to reading your book! Thank you for sharing, all glory to God!! ❤

What a testimony! Thank you so much for sharing so honestly ♥️ I was in the new age/occult via deception that it could heal childhood trauma. Now I’ve found my home in Jesus Christ, the true healer. I am an Orthodox inquirer and hoping to become a catechumen in the near future. God bless you!

Me too, me too… 15 yrs in the occult as well and then discovered Orthodoxy after witnessing the depths of evil the occult eventually buries you into…. I’m so thankful, and I think those of us who spent so much time in the occult can really bridge a gap in understanding because we speak that language. I think it’s more difficult for non-orthodox who are unfamiliar with the occult to speak in any way to those who are still caught in that occult world.

I am so so thankful for this interview. I’ve been wanting to write a book about my time in the occult and how I was then able to see and experience the truth of Orthodoxy. Sr. Anastasia sharing her story is inspiring me and giving me the courage to do so.

Thank you very much Fr. Tom for such an excellent topic as usual. Ancient Faith Today is one of my favourite podcasts. As someone without a spiritual home, Ancient Faith Ministries has been a lifeline to me in the last few years. I am originally from Ethiopia and I tune in from London (U.K.) where I live with my British husband. It was a pleasant surprise to listen to Sr. Anastasia, as it is not that often that I hear a British Orthodox Nun. I do not know what I would have done without Ancient Faith Ministries. I am not sure whether anyone else feels the same way as I do. I feel we live at a time, which feels like that we are under relentless pressure by multitudes of challenges, by the ever more incompatible ideologies, of the secular world. Unfortunately there are also times where ideologies of the secular world are allowed to play a part in the spiritual world and contaminate the churches and make them a no go area. I am one of those people not only without a church, and without a spiritual father despite my continuing search for one. Therefore, Ancient Faith has been providing a very valuable and much needed service to those like me. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in Ancient Faith Ministries. xcellent

I'm ill at the moment, and this discussion makes me feel better. Glory to God for His rescue of Sr. Anastasia from the world as He has done with so many of us. Glory to Jesus Christ, and may He help us in tearing down the idols of our heart so that we may fully learn and follow His statutes. Amen.

So true about the new age: if you’re not living the prosperous happy life, the failure is back on you. Your suffering is your own fault I read her book, twice in a row

I needed this - Years of Ayahuasca lead me to Christ and the Orthodox Church is calling me - the layers are many and it’s so deep but it’s so clear that healing in Christ is real and Ayahuasca is an unholy liturgy. God bless.

See the zen and that I thought it would help me overcome my emotions and to slow them down and how to overcome daily human issues that we have with each other and the meditation helped with my anxiety, but it was still Jesus Christ that I talked to.

What if God took you to certain places to bring others out to him , we our so quick to say we were misleading, when God knew what we were going to do before we did it. So God has a way to teach us when we get lost and save others along the way.

The coherent, holistic understanding of reality has been largely forgotten if not intentionally obliterated in the west in favor of Neoplatonism and dialectical materialism on the one hand and extreme hyperatomization of every conceivable category on the other.
