Another wonderful episode Irena! As I've said before, it's truly amazing how much of the original colours survived! I also share your frustrations when you go to a site and there's a "Closed" sign. It also troubles me that certain site's are open...for the right $$$. Historical knowledge should be free for all of us. It's our shared history as a species. 🖖😎🤘🇨🇦❤️
@ancientsitesgirl Жыл бұрын
there are so many monuments that some of them remain closed for practical reasons. tourists need to be serviced, monuments must be looked after, etc... besides, most tourists are not interested in lesser-known buildings, so it's unprofitable for the Egyptians. Thanks Colin!✌️

Hi Irena! I stumbled upon your amazing videos showcasing the ancient sites in Egypt, and I must say, they are fantastic! Your knowledge and passion for the subject are evident, and I greatly admire your expertise. I'm in the process of starting a travel company that among other things focuses on exploring the incredible tombs of Luxor, and I would be thrilled if you could lend your guidance. I'm particularly interested in understanding which tombs in and around Luxor are the most remarkable and how to gain access to the closed ones. Your assistance would be invaluable, and I would be honored to collaborate with someone as knowledgeable as you. Looking forward to your response! Kind regards Romeo Oasis Adventures

@@ancientsitesgirl Names are important. You may also consider "Ancient Sites Whisperer". I wasn't too happy with "Girl" because it sounded a little too immature for you. Back in the late 1990's a story called "The Horse Whisperer" was a very popular story in the U.S. and there were many offshoots from the name "Cat Whisperer" for example. I think in your case it gives your channel an air of mystery which is always present in history and in your presentations. ALL THE BEST

Thank you very much! 🥰 When were you in Egypt? In my opinion, the "selling situation" is changing for the better. Last time I was there, all I had to do was say "no, thank you" and they didn't insist. I also know that people react differently in different places. Giza is known as the worst, but when it comes to the West Bank of Luxor, it is really nice there and you can easily and peacefully 😁admire the wonderful ancient sites.

Hi, have you heard of "History with Kayleigh"? Shes a popular youtuber and her content is similar to yours, this is just a suggestion but maybe you can incorportate some of her elements to get more viewers and grow the channel, by using interesting facts and thumbnails instead of just tours. Maybe for each tour you should have multiple shorter videos that go in depth about the history and interesting stuff about the site

3:12 Thank you 😊 Your video is very beautiful, but this so- called Temple of Isis is just ugly. The signs on the walls are ugly, anything but proper hieroglyphs. The Roman rulers, like the Macedonian ones before them, destroyed Ancient Egypt but used some elements to legitimise their usurpation. They destroyed even the Ancient mythology. What is Isis doing in the company of Amun? Maat does not have a consort. The scribes (in cahoots with the priests) destroyed Maat and had the utter shamelessness to invoke Her for their petty purposes. Seshat was the consort of Thoth. The scribes should have kept Seshat and left Maat undefiled. One question- how come the carvings of this ‘temple’ have survived intact? As for the Hymn to Isis… strange how they chose this one out of many others… and very, very strange translation. I’m not an Egyptologist, but still… Questions, questions…🤨🤔
