Charles Wesley's deeply moving lyrics have never seen better, more inspiring treatment. what a beautiful work! A wonderful performance, too. Forrest's music keeps growing in depth and beauty.

I came across Dan Forrest's music about a year ago while doing a web search on John Ness Beck. I have found his arrangements to be virtually perfect settings for the lyrics. Whether he has arranged the traditional tune for the song or, as in the case, written a new tune, the music has always perfectly complemented the message of the lyrics. "And Can It Be" is among the best hymn texts ever written. The tune with which the lyric is most often associated is a good one but seems rather march-like for the personal nature of the text. Glad's acapella tune gets closer to the feel I get from this text and I have often enjoyed listening to it. But, Forrest's feel of "contemplative wonder" truly lays hold of the emotions I believe Charles Wesley experienced in considering the wondrous grace of God in saving such sinners as we are. Thanks be to God for such grace! And thanks be to God to give gifts to men to express His grace in such beautiful lyrics and moving music!

At a workshop held earlier, Dan told us that he wanted to compose music that was appropriate to the message of this lovely hymn. I just heard Dan Forrest's choral music in Rexburg, Idaho with the King Singers and the College Choirs of BYU-Idaho and I loved it!!! "And Can it Be" is inspirational and very moving!!!!

I was in that concert. Let me tell you, I know I fought back tears through almost the entire song. I'm sure I wasn't the only one either. This song is amazing to sing.
