My church has two hymnals, one of them with over 500 hymns and a hymn for every Psalm. When this one came up I had never heard it before and was just overwhelmed. I think old hymns are much better than the newer ones. "Bold I approach the eternal throne" - as Paul put it we can approach the throne of grace rather than a throne of great trembling and fear. Can one ever be truly ready to approach the throne? I don't think so, even when having believed for years.

The perfect arrangement of one of the grandest hymns. Love the refrain sung with male and female parts. I almost croaked when I first heard this wonderful hymn sung with the "dumbed-down" simplified "Amazing Love" sung at the end of each verse. Then I experienced a church where they just took the "Amazing Love" refrain and sang that after each verse of some shallow mushy contemporary song. Heresy!! Well, musical heresy, at least.
