Over the last 7 or 8 months I have purchased around 15 knife clones from temu. It has been fun to check out knife clones from temu, but I’m done....for now. There are too many offerings from good knife companies in the budget category(under $100) that I would much rather be spending my money on.

I got a Schrade Divergent on sale for $18 and it's just a better knife than the Mini Griptilian. The Divergent has G-10 scales, full steel liners and bearings vs the Griptilian's plastic handle, no steel liners and washers. The only supposed "downside" of the Divergent is the steel, but AUS-8 is a proven steel that works just as good as any for all practical purposes in a folder.

Green thorn makes the best clones. Better then most originals in fact. I have 3 and they are smooth as butter, full titanium, and the steel is D2. One of the other KZbinrs verified the steel and Rockwell hardness and it is what they say. I'll definitely be getting another one.

Green Thorn is really nice. Best clones I've got are Kanedeiia. Got a Shiro F3 clone and it's amazing. Fit and finish is a s nice as Reate and custom knives I have. Action is also as good if not better. It closes slowly and smoothly without any need to wiggle. That's my favorite kind of closing action that all my Andre Thorburn knives have and this one is 75%-80% as good. Handle is titanium liners and clip with stonewashed finish and marble CF with amazing milled pattern. Blade is m390 at 60-61hrc. I haven't had it tested, but sharpening it I'd say it's most likely true from what I've experienced. There are makers out there that use the steel they claim. Green Thorn uses m390 and s35vn on some models too, but they cost more. Kanedeiia uses m390 and vg10 on the few knives I've seen from them. The quality looks good, plus I like that they don't mark their knifes with logos of the knives they're copying. Because if they did, most people would have a hard time thinking it's not a real Shiro. It even came with a tool for the pivot and clip screw, something Shiro doesn't do.

You should check out Off Grid Knives. American company that creates their own designs and uses Bestech as the OEM. Lifetime warranty and excellent service. I own 7 of them now. They use D2, Cryo treated D2, 154CM, 14C28N etc, and they seem to get the heat treats right. They are all designed for hard use, even their edc line. Absolute tanks

Spit out my coffee when you said BM charges over 200 for that letter opener. I would love to support American knife makers but charging up to $1000 for a knife mostly made by a CNC machine is crazy. It’s not like these guys are hand forging for 10 hours a day. They’re stock removal knife makers.

I would certainly feel better about spending more for a handmade knife. I’ve made knives a few times. I know how difficult it is to make a good knife. Someone who can hand make quality knives deserves to get paid well. I’ll support that any day.

I can’t fathom spending $250 or more on a knife. I have several knives around $100 that are fantastic. I even more knives around $50 that I end up carrying the most often. Because they preform well and I don’t worry too much about damaging them. I don’t know how much I would actually use a $250+ knife. Thanks for sharing.

Really think about it. Your paying 250 for a small piece of steel. Try recycling that bitch you might 2 cents they get that steel for cheaper. Now the features fucking features to me it's what a knife should have regardless but they put in your head that these features are special

The internet hype about knives and EDC gear is out of control. A lot of it is good but it’s just slight variation of tool before it. Rarely does something truly unique come along. And when it does it cost way too much.
@missyoujoel3275
@missyoujoel3275 17 күн бұрын
@Strateegee24 exactly it's nothing new but they convince people that it is. What they call features on a knife to me I thought was a thing the knife needed to function. It's like saying a steering wheel on a car is a special feature. As long as people will pay for it they will keep raising prices. If people stopped just for 3 months paying high prices I think they would go down 50% in price

It’s true for the most part. Surprisingly, some cheap knives are somewhat decent. Especially considering that I paid around $10-$15 for most of the clones. I’ve paid $30-$60 for junk knives that get a ton of hype.

This gives me hope that some of my “fake knives will last a little while. They should because I’m not going to carry them everyday. Those that I did carry for a few weeks at a time, I had to sharpen more frequently. Not a big deal but for $20-$30 I can carry one of my knives that have a D2 blade with a good heat treatment and sharpen them less frequently. Most “fake”knives are made of 440 stainless, it’s not very pleasant to sharpen. It feels soft and sticky on a stone.

@@Strateegee24 honestly it was that good I bought another as a backup. I’ve had crap fakes/clones too. Microtechs etc that were junk. Thing is it’s entirely dependent on what your use is. Self defense? It’ll still hurt someone as much as a 300 knife. Survival? Would I trust it with my life? Don’t know. As a back up, Sure. I use mine for everything day to day from opening packages to cutting meat and bread to light screw driving and prying and it’s been flawless. I’ve got a zero tolerance clone with actual m390 steel and that’s hair whittling sharp- It’s too good yo use for the above mentioned stuff lol.

I might have to keep an eye out for the delica 4. Like I said in the video I’m just done for now, not forever. There’s an ESEE 4 clone that I would love to compare to my brother’s actual ESEE 4. So I’ll probably sprinkle in a knife clone video from time to time. Thanks a lot for watching and sharing your experience with clone knives.

"id buy a benchmade for under $100" 💀💀 EVERYONE would own one if they would sell them at $100, but they be out of business from pissing away money. USA MADE, cant use child labour or make your workers work for free. People complain about benchmade the most but inflation effects everything. And anyone who owns a benchmade knows they are worth it, I OPEN PAINT CANS AND USE IT AS A HAMMER when I have to. Chineseium cant even open mail. I think they get hate because they are the "most popular" and a "new" company compared to "classics" like buck or some shit. So people love to hate them, and with a lot of broke ass betas out there they need to hate them because thats what most people do when they cant get something. Mostly every other company out there has as bad or worse QC. I fully understand and feeling the "that much for a knife???" and feel it more than ANY american because stuff is 30%-50% more expensive for me to get than an american. But when a fkn apple is like $1-$6 depending on the type, a well made 1st world knife is worth $300 to me.
