Thank you for someone giving an HONEST club review. I believe most club reviews always give the edge to the bigger brand names like TM, Cobra, Calloway etc. Ive been using last year's Exotics driver and it is literally the Best driver I've ever used...and I've used all the big names...especially TM and Cobra. Mizuno and Tour Edge don't market as aggressively as the big brands...but they use the same, if not better technology at a very reasonable price.

I played the Mizuno ST-Z for 18 months. Was happy enough but found that it was hard to dial up a draw vs. fade when needed. Bought the Tour Edge Exotics E722 which I have been playing 3 months. Have done a dozen side-by-side sessions at the driving range. Indeed the Tour Edge is easier for me to choose and execute a desired shot shape. Mizuno is a reliable straight shot driver. Distance differences between the clubs are minimal. I prefer the Tour Edge. Bought the 3 wood and 19 degree hybrid, too. Me: 70 years old, 13 handicap, average drive distance 230 yards.
@tcofield19672 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the breakdown. It is nice to see that there are options available that don’t involve the traditional big names. These two drivers have flown under the radar and will give purchasers more of an option over clubs that have received more hype.

I feel the E722 would've been a more apples to apples comparison to the STZ, only because the E series is a single rear weight, high MOI head. If the C722 was used in stock weight placement, it has ~20% less MOI, which is great for centered hits (seen in the last 2 shots of the video). Around the 20 minute mark, all 3 C722 balls hugged the left side, which is expected from someone with a natural draw bias like you have. The E722 would've likely stayed off that left side, but would it have kept up in distance? I do think the STZ won this comparison, but would've had a harder time edging the E722 out (no pun intended). With that said, I loved the finale! I'm glad to see names besides Taylormade, Ping, and Cobra getting the recognition they deserve.

Great job. I use touredge clubs, so I'm happy to see the do well. The 722 that was tested was the C, I believe. I would love the see the E tested as it sounds like it is more of a forgiving club than the C, but less workability. I'm not a good golfer so it would be cool to see a real world golfer compare the two to get your thoughts on the two.

Years 2020 - 2021 my entire bag was Mizuno JPX irons and ST-Z woods. The 115 gram steel shafts were way to heavy for me. Replaced the Irons with Honma T/W with 63 gram graphite shafts and the woods with Tour Edge E722 Driver, 3 wood and 19* hybrid. Change in my handicap number? Absolutely none!
@andrewgudgeonobe27212 жыл бұрын
Gabe. I have been a bit haunted by the comments you mentioned about needing to test with a robot. I think some folks have missed the point. This bracket was a fun process for you to choose a driver. When the Mizuno finally dropped into your bag, your confidence in the club would have been extremely high. The process of the bracket allowed you to not only make a decision based on the criteria but also unconsciously on how the clubs felt in your hands. It has been great fun to watch, all the drivers are good, but this was about watching your journey. Thanks for sharing that journey with us. The big question for me is which driver would you give to your dad?

I was down in Texas a couple of weeks ago playing with a set of rented Cobras with regular shafts. After watching me snap hook the driver all day one of the local guys that I was paired up with wanted me to try his Mizuno ST 220-Z on the last hole. I blistered the Mizuno straight down the right side of the fairway 310 yards with a perfect trajectory. I would have never considered a Mizuno until I hit that shot. I just ordered one yesterday. Great final shootout. For anyone wondering I crunched the numbers. If you take out the water ball and the cart path ball from the tour edge it was 251.9 avg with 7 out of 15 FIR. The Mizuno was 251.6 with 9/15 FIR. Mizuno had zero lost balls. I agree with Gabe. Mizuno takes it. Great stuff !!!!

@@LetsPlayThru if their wasn’t a day 2 though the TEE was about 6-7 yds longer and just as accurate. the Mizzy gained a lot of ground day 2 😉
@LetsPlayThru2 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. After day 1 I was thinking the Tour Edge would take it or at least be tie because of a slight distance advantage. On mishits I do think it would go longer due to less spin, but Mizuno would find an extra fairway or two.
@erock10702 жыл бұрын
@@LetsPlayThru I agree on the Mizzy. A little more playable. Each year on my birthday I get 4 or 5 drivers in from global golf on their U try it program. $25 each for a 2 week trial. I use the 27th hole at a local course and hit about 20 drives with each over 2 days against my gamer. The better ones All ended up the same yardage but I go with the most playable option. I gps measure like you do and calc the FIRs too.

Good job Sir … I said that the Mizuno 220 would be there best Drive they ever made to date by Mizuno when I seen that it came out and heard about it’s numbers . And I have heard really the same things about the Callaway ST from results and performance this year … just my opinion from what I have seen from several people and your Challenge bracket is that the Callaway ST my be a few yards short on longest shots but is a bit more forgiving across the face than other drivers this year….. Next video idea for your channel I think would be very interesting would be Ping 425 Mizuno 220 Callaway ST face off in forgiveness and accuracy test which I think are the top three drivers in this category right now .🙂🏌🏻♂️⛳️

You may do the same battle on 17 degree hybrid. There are some hybrids with 17 degree in loft, such as Callaway Apex uw, Cobra LTDx hybrid, Cobra King Tec hybrid, Wilson D9 hybrid, Tour Edge C722 hybrid, Ping G425 hybrid, and Taylor Made Stealth PLUS Rescue hybrid. Perhaps you may add Srixon ZX hybrid (16 degree in loft) as well.
