You can always go in for a voluntary inspection at Cottonwood or Shasta scale. Make sure all is good before and you will come out with a sticker on your windshield. Also that is not a DOT inspection sticker it"s a CVSA sticker. You can go in every 3 months. California does voluntary inspections and those 2 are the ones I recommend.

when you want to get the pins to go back in after sliding your tandems using an pneumatic pin system, you should really release your trailer brakes for a few seconds, let it get some air back in the pins, it will push the pins back out. then do a quick tug test make sure they are set. then release the trailer brakes (only) again and then do your walk around and make sure they are set. this will also let you know if you have an air leak. in the pin system as you will hear it since releasing the brakes pushes the pins into the locked position automatically, and if something happened and they didnt set you will also see that they didnt set (though you probably should have felt that when you did your tug test as well. in the about 7 years of driving pneumatic pin trailers i have had them fail in both of these ways, as well as just not working at all from a complete air line block on a pin. you really dont want to get down the road and then realize that your tandems didnt lock in place. or have an air line failure while doing 60 on the interstate from the pin system, which i have also had happen. and have your trailer dump all its air. @Tiki
