This is when you can have an expensive arguyment about SOVERIGN individuals and their imaginary rights - that could clok up a few hundred quid just in redundant correspondence, THEN you could address the point of a spelling mistake in Richard's name etc. I suspect the outcome would be: 1) typing error corrected 2) letter resent: 3) fine lawfully levied and you (or Richard in this case) add a further £700 on top of the fine for getting the solicitor involved. The police sprogs serving in the job now mostly aren't of the same calibre as real thief takers like me. Nearly 70% of them have less than 3 years service. I saw them all wearing police costumes and face nappies in Trafalgar Square demo during the flu beating up old ladies like government facists and revenue collection officers. There's so much wrong with this, I had to deal with debt collectors because my council fitted an emergency call alarm in my mum's house. They sent a couple of letters then passed it to debt collectors £125 for fitting it and £5.50 a week since April. She's 84 years old and didn't quite understand what they were doing. Had her for a fortune under the guise of helping, unbelievable. They are scum.

You are a Hero Richard -- I am having a similar problem with the DVLA having clamped my van "as not being road taxed". It was on its way to being MOT tested when it broke down. No amount of explaining the situation was of any use. I had to pay £260 to have the clamp taken off the vehicle before I could move it. Now the DVLA are demanding £1600 in back road tax for the vehicle that has been on private land since 2020. There are only nine miles on the odometer between its last MOT in 2020 and today, that nine miles can be accounted for as the distance from the MOT depot and the piece of land upon which it has been ever since. But they are intransigent and want their pound of flesh. I have told them that I am unable to pay the amount and to take me to court. I have found any number of reports of similar actions being taken by the DVLA and its agents, all seem to be fraudulent in nature. And usually ends with the poor individual on the receiving end being extorted by these criminal goons. We are now living in a openly corrupt country being run by a contemptuous criminal GOVERNMENT. Get well soon pal. Your are a Hero, no doubt about that.

It’s a disgrace. I had to deal with debt collectors when I was most vulnerable after losing my partner to cancer. My children and I had to move out of our home and now I’ve got a PCN from the county court for parking at a retail park which has free parking. 6 months after moving I received a CCJ through the post stating I had broken the terms and conditions. They said they had written to me several times but it was the first I’d heard of it so I can only assume their letters had gone to my old address. So now I’m trying to start a new life after losing my partner and have got this CCJ to deal with. The stress has been immense. I am not a criminal but feel I have been persecuted for losing my beloved partner. These people are the worst. I wish you a speedy recovery Richard

Bully boys. We saw the way people like this acted during Covid (I had rows with bus drivers, train drivers and transport police who were throwing their weight about) and nothing has changed. Have a £500 ‘fine’ hanging over my head because I dared to drive up a closed road which had been open for the 40 years I’ve lived in the neighbourhood. I guess it’s one of those side roads that has now been turned into a low traffic neighbourhood. The fine went from the council to bailiffs who have been chasing me for a year. I’m not paying it. I did nothing wrong.

This also happens here in Belgium. The gps sends us through quiet neighborhood and it is not well signaled that we can't just drive there so we have to pay fines. It is one of the reasons why I dont go to cities anymore, shop online, work from home, and am even considering selling my car.
