This movie was made with the intention of being over the top slapstick.. even in those times comedy wasn’t this over the top.. it was meant to be like the Charlie Chaplin, three stooges types.. The biggest twist in the movie was that Raveena(in real life) is named Karisma and karisma(in real life) turns out to be Raveena in the movie

The movie has a lot of pop culture references as comedy which would be better understood by Indian people growing up watching a lot of Hindi movies. Also the movie is funny when one knows the Hindi language. The reason it became a cult hit was because up untill this movie released, the comedy in the 90s was very different. Heroes were usually portrayed in a different manner. When it released it actually tanked at the box office, but as people started watching it on small screen, they understood it’s perception and really loved it. We really appreciate the attempt of you both trying to enjoy the movie 😊
