A well-prepared interviewer asking very intelligent questions, with a guitar, a bass guitar and keyboards in the background? Why have I not stumbled upon your videos earlier? Brilliant stuff there. Thanks for the interview, Candice, and thanks to Volko for his eloquent, brilliant and insightful answers.

One of the best interviews and discussions pertaining to boardgame design that I've heard. Thanks Candice!

Wonderful interview. I’m waiting on China’s War which has “made the cut” but not sent to the printer yet. I also ordered Colonial Twilight while watching the interview. 😊

Great interview. Amazingly informative. Two amazing, wonderful, smart, enthusiastic and beautiful geeks. Up to this interview I wasn't convinced a COIN game would be my cuppa tea. This interview has finally convinced me. Thanks so much.

Fantastic video Candice. Please continue to sprinkle in CONSIM interviews in this series, we may just get a few more gamers interested in the genre.

wow plan sthg in CoIn about 30 years war? the 'lion king' and 'checkerboard army' vs 'eagle league' great title potentials even but its been always a sorta macbeth for euro/german game or series/moviemakers (tho it might be better that way for latter)

Candice, I'm sure you do it for the sake of showing interest to the designer...but as a Colombian, it itches me the wrong way that you smile while he's explaining aspects of the conflict that brought so much pain and agony to thousands of people.

Honestly, it seemed to me also weird and I am not Colombian. In fact, Volko told many interesting things, but the girl seems to be more like a smiling puppet who read prepared questions but did not react to what Volko was saying in any way. By my standards, it was more like Q&A than an interview.
@Nain19823 жыл бұрын
@@JOUOBCAST Idk. It's nothing personal against Candice. I like her, and I think the interview was good and in spite of the theme of that game that affects me, the designer did some great research on the topic and she asked good questions too. It's just her reactions and facial expressions that bothered me sometimes. Maybe it's just her personality to smile or was anxious during interview.

Interesting. I rather experience her as being so enthusiastic, a very likeable person, being excited of the opportunity to be able to talk to Volko and let him talk. Has no inclination to show off focusing on Volko. She is smart and very knowledgable. I think you are reading to much into this.

Around 1:13 they both get solemn while speaking about the seriousness of the subject matter.

I like the theme, components and graphic design but the game itself feels like doing semi random stuff that gets cancelled by your opponents anyway. It's endless back and forth without much progress. It's difficult to gain any kind of control that can't be easily destroyed by the whims of your opponents. It feels chaotic. I really want to like it though and I'm willing to give it another go.

Seems like a game with where "playing your opponents" (i.e. diplomacy) is as big of an element as trying to outplay your opponents (i.e. tactics and strategy), if that makes sense.
