So just to clarify here... 2:58 when you cover all holes is the same sound as when I cover NO holes but it's just clearer and better overall?

Great control my man! That technique is similar to the concert flute. The bit of extra pressure in the lips speeds up the air and often raises the angle of the airstream to hit higher on the edge of the tone hole. Love your clear tone! Thanks for the lesson. These quena flutes are tricky.

Very helpful. What about using the thumb hole as on a recorder, as a vent? When it's half covered the second octave comes out easier (though I think with less overtones).
