Been planning for this exact thing since I stumbled on a cocktail smoking kit earlier in the year. It came with cherry, apple, and mesquite woods to start. But then my small torch quit, so now I need to replace it. I was inspired by a local cocktail creation called “The Smoking Gun”. Basically an old fashioned, with two major enhancements. The Bulleitt bourbon was washed with browned butter first. Second was that it was served in a mason jar, with the smoke piped in at the finish, then sealed in with a screw down lid. You then had the option to either simply remove the lid, making for a lighter smoke flavor in the drink, or by shaking it first, infusing a heavier smoke profile. Really fun, and delicious to boot!

I have been a fan of yours the entire time, watching all your videos, growing my amateur mixology hobby, all due to you. I was SO impressed back when you presented the smoked maple OF in a video of its own. I've said it many times, if I were forced to drink only cocktail for the rest of my life, it would be the OF and its riffs. That one would be one of my top choices. Seeing you make seasonal, especially autumn, cocktails always gives me a warm feeling. Making and drinking the cocktails gives me an even warmer feeling. I love Fall, even if it is melancholic. Αnd what is there to say about JM's creations... Ι have mixed me a Bourbon Renewal plenny of times. Always hits the spot.

Your smoked maple old fashioned reminds me of the old fashioned riff I like to make at home! 2 oz bourbon, 1/4 oz maple syrup, 1/4 oz falernum, 2 dashes of angostura, a dash of whatever other bitters I'm feeling, orange oil overtop (optional), and a dried lime wheel for garnish 😄
@BrandonNevermind4 ай бұрын
(I use a home-dried lime wheel, and if you sip this one slowly, the lime slowly rehydrates and seeps lime flavor into the drink over time, making the end of the drink have a much more tiki kinda vibe)

I'm not a black currant fan (plus I didn't want to go buy another bottle), so I tried the Bourbon Renewal with Creme de Mure instead and it was just okay. Can do a toffee appletini with the apple sours. Arguably the butterscotch schnapps may work there too. 30ml caramel vodka (ideally keep in freezer), 30ml apple sours, shake with apple juice and ice, garnish with cinnamon. Simple, quick, tasty.
