If you don't want to use up all of your bitters you can often substitute it with amaro di angostura, it has a very similar flavor but is a little softer

So true. I went through the same thing about a year ago when I discovered it. It was Anders-mania for a few days, as I binge watched all the older episodes. Now I have to be satisfied with one per week. Its a tough adjustment, but one that allows you to live a normal life in addition to binge watching, haha.

@@amytg777 I definitely wouldn’t want a whiskey sour with a whole egg haha. The egg whites are pure protein btw and it’s the fat in the yolk that messes with the foam.

As a fellow lover of angostura bitters, I impulse bought a bottle of amaro di angostura a while ago but hadn't found a use for it. This drink inspired me to try a variation: 1.5 oz each of coffee and amaro di angostura, omit the syrup, and I now have my favorite flip. Thanks Anders!

This is one of the best cocktails I've ever had! I add 3/4 oz of high-proof rye and a touch of curacao. In addition to grating a coffee bean, I add some orange zest. Truly dynamite!

this is awesome! It reminds me of a morning coffee drink I used to get in Vietnam. Traditionally they would drop the entire egg in their espresso as a replacement for dairy. It's not alcoholic but the creaminess of the egg really balances the coffee so well

I just made this drink and I gotta say it is very good. It was a bit too strong for me off the bat so I added about 1/2 oz of heavy cream and dry-shaked it up again and grated chocolate on too it instead of coffee bean. It’s very bitter but in a good way, also quite sweet, and very aromatic. I think it’s prefect for coffee lovers

Awesome creation Anders, what a Beast.. I need to give this a try. I love experimenting with golden cocktails, i. e. egg yolk only. I recently made one I call the ‘golden punch’ - 1 1/2 oz Armagnac - 1/2 Liquor 43 - 1/4 oz lemon oleo saccharum - 1/2 oz lemon juice - 2 dashes of absinthe - one egg yolk Shaken and double strained into a tea cup. If you get a spoon wet and stir the coffee beans immediately before grinding, it'll cut down the static electricity. You can also give them a small spritz of water.

Amazing. Simply because of the name and Andrew Bird, and also the coffee. If you want more acidity in your cold brew, start your cold brew process with a hot bloom for a minute then top up with room temp filtered water-store it in the fridge until the next day then strain it with a Chemex filter to remove as many fines as possible.

Y'ALL this drink is insane good. I just made it (yes, I'm late) with an ounce of bitters cobbled together from three tiny bottles on my shelf, a bad espresso machine and worse espresso. And it was STILL delicious. Coulda maybe used a quarter-ounce simple. With BAD espresso.

I just made this and am drinking it now. Well done! The complexity of flavors was unexpected and gets better with each sip. Nice! I used a cinnamon anaerobic processed coffee for the espresso which might be adding another little layer of flavor to it. I'll definitely make this one again!
