I'm a old Army vet and purchased a Anderson, does what it needs to do. For the price you can't beat them. I can hit spot on with mine, very happy. I've shot many ARs and the Anderson I purchased keeps right up with them. I did purchased a few extra parts for just in case but they have yet to be taken off the shelf.

Anderson is one of the largest upper and lower forging receivers company in the U.S. They make receivers for companies like BCM and Rock Island armory. They even made upper and lower receivers for Ruger at one point back in the 1990’s.

All ARs are budget ( throwaway) rifles. Those ARs that are not budget ARs are just overpriced, budget rifles. I know all you folks that have a Colts or Daniel Defense will be mad at me. But facts are facts. By the way, I liked this review.

I’ve shot a lot of ARs in my day and I can confidently say that’s 100% not true in the slightest. Not all rifles are made equally; Andersons are perfectly usable as a starter rifle, but in terms of built quality and longevity, they’re no where near BCM, Windham, or FN. No shame in that, just let’s be honest in what we’re discussing.

what is this specifically chambered for? because you don't want to firing 556 out of something chambered for 223 the chamber compressions are too much but you can shoot 223 out of a 556 all day long without problems just don't do the reverse from what I understand just asking cause it sounds like you may actually know versus maybe people just trying to sell a rifle if it's chambered in 223 I'd rather just hold out for a mini 14

Anderson is very good, if you build from stripped receivers best to purchase in sealed Anderson retail packaging. Most of mine begin with an Anderson open or closed lower receiver and an Aero M4E1 stripped upper receiver with a NationalMatchShim in between. Barrels are either Criterion or FN, BCG are mostly by Angstadt. For .308 builds it's Aero-Aero with a NM Shim in between.

I bought one of these rifles back in November of last year. Amazing gun, just needed sights. As of posting this I've changed out pretty much every single part in it except the trigger, barrel, and bcg. Still saved considerably more than it would cost to buy something insanely custom like a daniel defense rifle. For reference I bought mine for $650 and got 100 rounds of 556 for no extra charge.

My buddy has a Daniel defense 556 but he paid 2300 for I have my AM 15 that I paid $450 for paid another 110 for a red dot site was talking to the guy at the counter before I purchased and the guy next to me said put 50 down range. Clean it. 50 more clean it and you'll never have a problem with it as long as you clean it and take care of it. I did exactly what he said. It is a very straight shooting reliable gun round after round magazine after magazine and my buddy with his Daniel defense wants to go shop for shot to see if he overpaid. I don't believe that he did because like he says in the video quality is quality, but I'd be happy if it gave him a run for its money

Anderson takes a beating on KZbin and I can't figure out why. I built a .450BM with a 20" barrel, a Failzero BCG, and a budget drop-in trigger to hunt whitetail in Michigan's southern lower peninsula...and it just plain shoots. Don't shy away from Anderson for your budget builds!

i just bought one of these 2 days ago and its my first ever AR style rifle, i have been wanting another glock since i still have tons of magazines for them but everytime i go to buy one i end up with a diffrent gun. last time i saw a nice gen 3 glock 17 and noticed a beautiful girsan regard MC (its basically a turkish beretta m9 clone) for 100 less and grabbed that and this week went to the same shop with a budget of 600 tops but looking to spend 300-500 and saw a nice glock 19 gen 3 i think for 529 and was about to buy it but noticed the rifles in the back and saw a black rifle by itself and asked the guy about it and said its 300 dollars because its got no sights or a magazine but they had magazines in stock so i bought it knowing absolutley nothing about it and did a quick search while waiting on my backround check and the first few things looked pretty negative so i figured id probally bought a piece of junk but i love the way it looked but glad to see its actually a good budget rifle since thats exactly what i was hoping to get into

great video ... In my early days, i had an AM15 - also bought the M&P sport II, RUger AR556 and a PSA - was collecting all budget ones... shot a lot the M&P sport II & AM15 - not one issue. However, in the hot market 2-3 yrs back sold all of them for almost double what i bought em for - never thought ARs would make me profit but don't underestimate a hot panic market. Upgraded to some mid tier like Aero P, BCM. Also picked up some AKs. Either way, i wouldn't mind AM15 or M&P sport II or Ruger AR556 - will run just fine - if have more money go for more gucci depending on how finances are. WIth inflation, i would never doubt purchasing firearms or ammo - better than money sitting in the bank. All the ammo i have bought I coudl sell for more right now.

I am new to the AR world..... I have been collecting parts the last 6 months for my first ever AR that I am building on my own...... I thought if I am going to pay that much for a new gun, it is going to be my own gun and the look I want..... I collected the last piece of puzzle this week so I will be starting building after I get the last bit of tools I need.... I can't wait..... I watched so many videos on building ARs so I think it going to be easier than I think.

I just dipped my toe in the AR market for the first time, with an Anderson AM15 Stallion from CF. I had decided to go with bare bones, am adding a Primary Arms RD 25 red dot, a sling and foregrip and nothing else for the immediate future. 6 mags, all from different manufacturers to see what works or doesn't. As I've been an AK guy for quite some time know there is a certain learning curve with every new system and figured I wanted to start at the bottom. In the past, every time I'd talk myself into buying one, there would be another AK a few hundred cheaper, or 7.62x39 was a dime cheaper per round than 5.56 in bulk. As anyone following the market the past 5 years, those positions have swapped on firearms cost, a budget AK these days is 700 and paid 400 for the AR. This will essentially be my training wheels, lighter weapon and ammo, softer shooting round, if accuracy and dependability are on par with my budget AMD65 will be happy.

Yes, I want an AR good enough to upgrade/tinker along the way. And I have no intention of making a SEAL Team with my AR-15, just want a nice shooting reliable one. Should I just get the complete Anderson Lower assembly buttstock and build it? Or just pay out twice more for a complete rifle? I'm thinking complete rifle.
@GB-zi6qr

Nice video! There is a glaring problem though. Should someone be the type that likes to tinker, likes fairly small projects with pretty good results. Anderson provides a gateway to... building your own. I am a hobbyist, I have enjoyed building my own rifle. These are Legos for adults. I do however recommend patience and research.

I have one built on an Anderson upper and lower with that same trigger, I believe the trigger is polished stainless but Mil Spec. I have the Sharps XPD bolt, a stainless barrel, Vortex Strikefire two optic, and a heavy aluminum quad rail. It’s been great, and the thing I like about Anderson is the finish is really tough. I also have another upper and lower from them waiting to be built. Nothing wrong with Anderson, not the best by any means, but it’s not a M&P Sport 1st gen, so there’s that.

A 22LR Rifle should be "given" to your child as their first true firearm for plinking and small game hunting, when they are competent to handle it safely. Look at the "cricket" as an example rifle for young or SMALL shooters. Followed by a 22LR pistol or revolver shortly thereafter, once they have shown respect for that rifle. An AR platform rifle should be "given" for their 16th to 18th birthday, if your child is of sound mind and living a non-criminal lifestyle. And they should have been practicing with one even before this. This rifle looks like a good candidate for this first AR platform "gift" rifle. Inexpensive and reliable are the key points to look for here, and this rifle seems to hit both. My family have had numerous firearms in almost all of our homes, for generations going back to the very beginning of America as a country and before. To my knowledge we have never had a family member, much less a child, harmed by a firearm (except by the action of others - wars, hunting accidents, felons, etc.), despite never having locked up our firearms. Nor have we had an incident with an "active shooter" nor a "suicide by firearm" in all that time. In fact there has always been a loaded firearm (usually a rifle or shotgun) within easy reach in almost every home of my family for centuries. My family begins firearms training shortly after the child can walk and talk. We usually fire our first true firearm no later than age 5 to 6, and toy firearms like BB guns before that even. Firearms are NOT the problem in America, it is the morality and teachings of the public and especially the children that make the difference. And that training starts in the home. This is my personal (and family's) opinion on firearms, going back hundreds of years, take it as you will.

I've had and seen more problems and missing and loose components, and non functional rifles with complete PSA rifles than all other rifles combined. They were who I was talking about in the video about rifles shipping with loose or missing gas blocks.

Ain't a thing wrong with "Poverty Ponies" in my experience - I've got a small herd of 'em here on the place. None of 'em "pre-builts", though - Built 'em up off stripped lowers. Only ever bought one ready-to-shoot - a DelTon - my first AR. If I knew then what I've learned since, I'd likely have gone for the Anderson instead. Oh well - It ain't anything special, but it does the task it's designed for. I like the one's I've built on Andersons better. They do their jobs, too. Works for me.

What does an Anderson have over the Del-Ton?
@Ferd414
@Ferd414 4 ай бұрын
@@Allenmar73 The Del-Ton has a high-shelf, not quite "blocked"- just *VERY* narrow - lower, and I don't like that it came with a BCG that's NEARLY - It misses by MAYBE an eigth of an inch - the fully neutered Colt "Ban-era" half-moon cut. These things don't kill the rifle, but they just aren't to my liking. Aside from that it's not a bad rifle, just not a perfect match to my ideal.

Question: Have You Ever Operated The Sig Sauer M400 Tread? If So What Is Your Honest Opinion Of The Rifle? Also What Would Be Your AR-15 List-Choices For A $500-$1,000 AR-15?
@RTTGunsGear
@RTTGunsGear Жыл бұрын
I've shot the Tread 11 5, but not carbine length version. I'm not impressed for the price. The one I shot didn't function any better and didn't seem put together with any higher quality than the Anderson in this video. And the Anderson is 1/2 to 1/3 the price. And I would say that if you're going above 500, closer to 1000, Aero is probably the best bang for the buck. Radical Firearms makes some nice stuff just north of 500 as well. But honestly, the mid-tier area of 700-1000, it's hard to not just build one yourself. Below 500-600, it's hard for a person to source the individual parts of reasonable quality to build your own.

Just as good?! Allow me to offer my few cents: I'd be "just as good" with a 400 dollar AR as I might be with a 2,000 dollar AR because the weak link, the limiting factor is ... me. I'm very much short on actual experience with rifles, so what's the point of me going straight to a high end AR? Might as well chisel off the rust with a 400 dollar gun. And get something better when or if I get good. That 400 dollar AR in the hands of an occasional shooter? Still better than no AR I guess.

Oh..I absolutely do. It's silly to think that I wouldn't. The fit, finish, tolerances, and quality of parts are all better. Just mechanically speaking, it will inherently shoot better. Cheap rifles are in no way even remotely equal to expensive ones. But that doesn't mean cheap rifles don't work and aren't generally worth the money spent on them.

All of them are a gamble..quality control in the last 20 years has gone into the toilet. Most places, what makes an AR a budget gun is milspec. Also, buy to tooling to change your own barrel out. Milspec=budget. That has been my findings. But these days, name and price doesnt mean quality.

One big issue for accuracy is the barrel flange face on the upper receiver is not square with the bolt bore. Bought a Tool to square it up, and it shoots great now. Went from a 3" group, close to 1 inch now. Using Same ammo. And barrel fitment in the upper should be tight.
