Anderson is a city in and the county seat of Anderson County, South Carolina, United States.[3] The population was 26,686 at the 2010 census,[4] and the city was the center of an urbanized area of 75,702.[5] It is one of the principal cities in the Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin metropolitan statistical area, which had a population of 824,112 at the 2010 census. It is further included in the larger Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, South Carolina combined statistical area, with a total population of 1,266,995, at the 2010 census. It is just off Interstate 85 and is 120 miles (190 km) from Atlanta and 140 miles (230 km) from Charlotte. Anderson is the smallest of the three primary cities that make up the Upstate region, and is nicknamed the "Electric City" and the "Friendliest City in South Carolina". Anderson is the home of Anderson University, a selective private comprehensive university of roughly 3,900 undergraduate and graduate students.

You must be driving a cop car. Nobody pulling out in front of you, people using turn signals, nobody speeding, and etc. And this must be on Sunday because it looks like a lot of businesses are closed. And I didn't see the first moped, hooker or homeless person pushing a grocery cart.

This place is without a doubt the biggest shit hole I've EVER had the displeasure of being at. Crack head central, everyone I encountered at least thinks they're tough "gangster's", the cops seem to think they're a bunch of bad asses and most definitely aren't. Idk. Maybe I just had a bad experience on the side of town I spent the summer at. It was a straight up crack head dump where I was. I'm sure there's likely better areas somewhere but of course I ended up in the shitty side of things lol

Hey man, sorry it took so long to reply. I had to contact my nephew to figure out where we were at. Idk if you know the area or not but it was the north side off of foster Street. Man it was seriously crack head central. Idk if there's any good parts to the city. There very well may be but in my brief few months there, no desire to ever return. At least not to Anderson. If I remember correctly the court house, a church, and some big grocery store I forget the name of was pretty close to us. Various restaurants near the store.

I'm sorry that your experience was so negative. In my 50 years living in 4 different areas of Anderson (one time in the city and three in the county), I have enjoyed most of my time here. Once, I worked for the Census Bureau and did visit parts of Anderson that seemed pretty rough. Don't all cities have those?
