30:23 It is the turquoise from Kerman which is mined from copper mines. Even though it is from Iran but it is not the turquoise which was historically known as Persian turquoise which is from Neishabour (spelled in different ways). The Kerman turquoise has only been mined relatively recently and almost always is stabilized, while the Neishabour mine is estimated to be mined since 5000-7000 years ago. The Neishabouri turquoise the majority of the time isnt stabilised because its a hard turquoise and the majority of time comes in a thin layer in bedrock. The Neishabouri turquoise comes in a wide range of colours, literally from white (I know some people think real white doesnt exist but I have seen Persian white turquoise) to yellow, caramel, all types of green to any kind of blue to very dark blue and even rare purple and brown. The Kermani turquoise is usually only dark blue or dark green and has lots of pyrites but Neishabouri turquoise rarely has pyrite. The info about Persian turquoise is very limited and mostly wrong information about it in the US. Iran has 3 main turquoise mines, Neishabour, Damghan and Kerman. In Iran stabilized turquoise has a fraction of the value of the natural stone. Natural unharmed turquoise is referred to as "living stone" and stabilized and oiled stones are referred to as dead. I import and sell turquoise stone and jewellery from Iran.

This explains what I mentioned above in my comment (reply). The Turquoise/gold ring I got my gf in Dubai is pretty much all blue without a speckle of pyrite. The underbelly is still rough. The Turquoise stone on that ring may have indeed come from Iran. As I was watching Dave's vid, I couldn't help to wonder why her Turquoise ring has no pyrite! 😂 Thanks for the info! 👍

@@PointmanOps The type of stone you described is called "Ajami" (the type without matrix on the surface) and most likely is from Neishabour mine. Its the most valuable type. Usually sky blue or light blue (Darker blue is more valuable) and on the back of the stone, there is a matrix or at least a patch of it.

@@lapidarydave if I make to the Winter Show in January, I'll definitely get some, too if you have some. Especially the type he showed you at 14:30. Just mind blowing. If he ever comes to the Munich show, I'll have my friends join me and we'll raid his booth. 😂.. My gf loves her Turquoise ring. I was told the Turquoise comes from Iran, but I don't have those expertise to know better. Anyway, I'm sure she'd love a pendant to go with it. 🙂 I love that you leave the vendor's contact information. That always comes handy. Much appreciated.

@@lapidarydave Holy cow I was going on and just chatting away and then the phone is like 1% from dying and I didn’t get the spellcheck or anything so if it goes off some crazy tangent sometimes it’s Siri who says whatever she wants to. The whole gist of everything else there’s a reason why right now today we have finally connected and talked so you can email me and either one of those emails And then we can go from there I can tell you what is going on and what solution prison of itself and there’s absolutely no reason that it wouldn’t work for you along with 100 million other people.
