If you buy or plan on buying a Gravity Series 800, this video saves time over following the pamphlet instructions provided with the grill/smoker. This video was one of the best and most prepared I have ever found to assemble anything. You guys did a GREAT job breaking down each step and with providing tips on making things easier. I want to thank you, cause today I got delivery of my MB 800. I referred to your video for step by step guidance and it really helped alot. Awesome video. Just assembled mine tonight. Bought the LSD mods. Did the entire thing alone. I will install the mods tomorrow and preseason. You did a great video. Never opened the instructions. My only issue was i has a few of the screws, (A’s) that were stripped. I was also short one nut (B’s) and had to use one from my garage. I may have dropped a (B) nut. I bought the 800. Bought a Masterbuilt 800 yesterday and used the instructions in this video to assemble it... So much easier than reading the manual and the tips worked well. The only thing that didn't work out for me is tightening that manifold rack. Maybe the models have been adjusted but there are spacer screws placed that prevent the manifold from being tightened. I guess that's done so you can easily disassemble and clean that part. Very very helpful video, thanks for putting it up here.

Thanks! This video saved me a whole lot of time putting my 800 together! Not having to read the manual is always a better way to do it. And your steps were flawless! One tip… When screwing in the manifold from underneath, you need to loosen the 2 screws a little bit first before putting it in. The screws look deceiving, and look like they can be screwed in further, but they’re already screwed in to the manifold to the max. Back them out a little bit, and it should go in fine.

I assembled my 800 today using only this video! It went well. It took me near 6 hours though 😮… then another hour getting the glue off the underside of the hood. It was stuck! Goo Gone, elbow grease, then Mean Green to get rid of the Goo residue. The bubble wrap was melted onto some of the griddle too, I’ll address that tomorrow when I’m doing the burn in. I’m glad I assembled it myself, now I know everything about it. I appreciate your video, it was a real help.

Got my 800 last week from Costco. Thank you so much for the video. For someone who is not very handy, the video was excellent! The instructions were just like Ikea's, often confusing. Without your video, assembly would have been a disaster. I did end up with extra screws and nuts, but the 800 is still standing, so I think I'm ok. Section 29 where you have to crawl under the bbq to tighten the 2 screws to the manifold - the screws don’t tighten and lock the manifest in place. Many others also look to be experiencing the same situation. Is this ok/ safe for them to be not be locked to the manifold ?

Bought a 900 (Costco) last July and couldn’t get motivated to put it together until this weekend. Started yesterday and had some delays. Finished today because I needed someone to help me flip it over. Anyway, great guide, really helped a lot! Only thing I found different (and maybe MB changed things between the time this video was done and last year) was the part of laying underneath to tighten the 2 screws on the manifold. On mine, they won’t tighten. They’re fully seated and have a collar. I tried to tighten the first one and actually broke it loose (probably essentially stripped the screw). I’m guessing MB made the change so the manifold could easily be removed for cleaning? Anyway that was my only real departure from the assy video. Had some leftover hardware…dunno if that’s normal or not.

Great work, great video and great workarounds. THANK YOU!!! --- Brief note based on what we stumbled across a little; all because the BBQ has some quirks... As part of step 9, "attach bottom of hopper, ash-cleanout and fan segment": You mention that a piece of metal needs to be bent back. This is the track for the lower flue / airflow covers (step 23). in step 16 we blocked that when we installed the heat shield 51 (front)and did not make sure it lined up with the cut-out in that heat shield. Also, heat shield 46 has a threaded nut fitted for the "D" screws. This will only work if you really make sure that the heat shield is behind the hinges on the hopper side when you mount it. All heat shield D screws that are fitted to the leg holes only go one way, from outside, the shield side, to the leg because the leg side is the threaded side. Anderson: When you started Step 17 I had to stop confused for a second. My bad but it looked like you had already somehow mounted the side table to the chassis when you started with the antenna. For those that stop here, don't, just follow on... 🙂

So this is a great video! Definitely has some improvements on the methodology of the manual -BUT be warned: there are a couple of omissions here that are only mentioned in the manual that might have you going back a couple of steps and doing some disassembly. The biggest one for me is not mentioning how to align the hinged piece you "bend back" when installing the smoke box, fan, etc. That is where one of the slides goes , so you want to align it and slot it through the front heat guard when you are attaching that piece.

This video was way better than the instructions could have been. Will do my burn on tomorrow. Problem with this one is step 29 where you tighten the two screws below the manifold - they just turn and turn and do not tighten. Would you suggest throwing two little nuts on the screws?

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot to put my Series 900 together ( it is actually the 800 with pizza oven). 2 observations with mine: 1 - I had difficult in mounting the back shield, it was not allowing enough space to hang the ashes basket lid in the below hooker. I had to use a hammer and a cardboard piece to adjust. 2 - The topper shelf is kind of scratching the inside of my lid not sure why - either the shelf is bigger, or it is not positioning well or door came bit misaligned - I think it is not a big issue but it is kind of a concern every time I have to open

Did your manifold screws tighten or were they free spinning?

@@jaysinghji1 in order to avoid it to free spin I had to loose the screws a little bit before placing the manifold support. Then, I could tighten them and it is not loose. If you just place the support with the screw holes like the manual says you cannot tight

I don't know if things changed since I just bought mine a week ago, but the screws under the manifold cannot be tightened. They have a stop on the screw itself so it leaves about a ¼ inch. That's why the drip tray goes in before the manifold (at least on my 800). The one thing I did miss in the instructions was the 2nd shield for the hopper. Wouldn't have missed it if I didn't use the manual and instead watched this video. Your video also clarified that there's 2 manifolds for grill and griddle - the instructions didn't make it so clear. Well done!

I actually just applied slow and constant pressure while removing the stickers and they came off clean and in one shot!
