Ha, this made me chuckle. I often watch gear videos with a guitar in my hands and these days, instead of the Fender Strat I’ve sworn by (not at) for the last fifteen years, it’s a Jet JS 400 that floats my boat. Sure I can feel it’s roasted neck (!) but the real giveaway is the rounded neck joint that makes the Fender feel positively agricultural. I think a really interesting shootout would be to take 5-10 guitars of one type replace the pickups and strings in all of them to be high grade aftermarket matching pickups and good quality strings. Then set them up to have matching action and pickup heights. Then do the blindfold test where the guitar with its total price (instrument, pickups and setup) is shown. See how they rank. There could be one exception for the expensive guitars, if their pickups are more expensive than the aftermarket then they stay.

Guess it depends on where it is build.
