@@pepmasters-999 Rob's rig sounded so much better with the tele. Then again it's humbuckers versus telecaster pickups so the telecast is going to have more chime obviously but I think that's what it was missing. It was a bit muddy.

I love this video format, especially when it’s not the same old gear. Very interesting how much better the expensive guitar through the cheaper amp sounded, but there wasn’t a huge quality drop on cheaper guitar through expensive amp. I do have a theory that an amp needs to have a big power section to sound big, even at lower volumes.

Those Bugera's are a very nice amp for the money. And they're easily upgradable. I have the V22 Infinium and it's all I need for a small venue and band practice. I even record with it. I dropped in a Celestion 12 inch speaker, put in premium tubes and replaced several of the pots and jacks with Switchcraft and CTS brand name parts. The ones that come with it are functional but very low end. That's how they're able to sell them so cheap. There's also some mods that are going around for the tone controls. Replacing certain capacitors and resistors with different values. I don't think I will go that far, I am happy with what I have done to it already.

The BBE Sonic Maximizer and the Unna pedal do make things sound better - but soon better just becomes normal because you never want to turn it off. I describe the BBE as being like a very thin bedsheet was draped over your cabinet and the BBE takes it away. Adds just a little bit of thickness and a nice polish on the very high end.
