Remo Fiberskyn Heads - What Are They All About?

I had 8 or 10 fiberskyns that the surface bubbled. I'm not a banger. I contacted Remo. They wanted pictures. I sent them. I never heard any more. No more Remo heads of any kind. Screw them. They don't stand behind their products.

The same thing happens with Evans Calftones heads.

skyntone are the best. Even the diplomats are too thick and dead. The skyntone are perfect

I’ve heard some of the pros that I enjoy use these on there reso bass head, does anyone have any take on that? Is that like a normal thing?? are they interchangeable?

I'm not a pro - just a dumb bass player - but I approach drums from the viewpoint of a soundman. I outfitted my home jam room / loaner Gretsch kit with matching Fiberskyns for batters and resos on the toms and kick. IMO it makes a difference. Improved warmth and room feel with less overtones. On the snare, I keep the standard clear Remo reso head. But I would assume a Fiberskyn as a snare reso would work as well - probably gives a very 1930's tone.

I agree on the comment that the skyntone is the best, the fiberskin head are awful in my opinion
