Hello Sensei, I am sorry to hear that you have been forced to close your Dojo but happy that you are still teaching online! You have the respect and following of many serious martial artists around the whole world with your online instructions. I for one have found that following you on KZbin has added to and, I believe, improved my abilities, allowing me to receive instructions on a daily basis that has added greatly to the work I do in the Dojo and the teaching of my local instructor! My instructor now follows you and has recommended to the whole class that we do the same, so I have got you 30 more devotees of mixed abilities and experience and I have to say that I have only received positive comments from my fellow students at the club. So, Sensei, thanks for the work that you do and the instructions you give, i can only say that it has helped me greatly sir!

I began training again one year ago this month, I'm currently 48. Remember that getting your black belt shouldn't be looked at as "completion". Its really still the beginning, as long as you're alive you can continue to train.

Hi Sensei, great content as usual, the second martial art I studied for over a decade was WTF TKD and the way to throw these two very different kicks was, I have to say, made very clear from day one! From the front or back leg, repetition is the key as long as the teacher corrects mistakes to stop errors being ingrained in your muscle memory. Also I found, as you pointed out, doing the kicks in slow motion helps

Perfect!!! This is exactly what I need! I took up kickboxing/Muay Thai 3 months ago. Mainly front push kicks and round kicks. I’ve been trying to learn myself the spinning back/side kick after using a front or round kick.. I really should just focus on mastering my balance on the side/back kick, before adding that to a combo. I have a few videos on IG but I might start showcasing it on KZbin .. thanks again!

While I did not have issues separating side kick and roundhouse (round kick), but I did have issue with back kick vs back turning hook kick. Of course, with my weak ACL, it is simplest to stick with a back kick, as it halts the turning momentum to push it forward, rather than fully circular which torques the knee more. The side kick is a bit easier to delineate from roundhouse, at least not the way I was trained simply by the fact that we were told universally to strike with the blade of the foot, whereas roundhouse typically involve striking with the flat top of the foot.
