God this episode is gorgeous. Also it's not the first hint of Cinta and Vel, one of the crew tells Cassian in an earlier episode that Cinta is "already sharing a blanket" and the camera shifts to her coming out of Vel's tent while Vel has a blanket over her shoulders. I think Vel also had a kind of "stop giving her eyes" interaction with Cassian too if I recall correctly.
@seangargan2 жыл бұрын
A couple of interactions; first, when Cassian was kind of flirting with Cinta, Vel told him “you can start dressing yourself, Clem” (up to that point Cinta was dressing his wounds), and the second interaction I remember was when they were passing around a flask and Cassian gave it to Cinta and smiled, and Vel got in between the two of them, took the flask away from her and told Cassian to keep his focus on the mission.

My heart was pounding out of my chest throughout the last 15 minutes of this episode! I was just repeating “come on, come on, come on” on and of throughout the heist. The writing and directing was honestly some of the best I have ever seen not just in Star Wars but in any spy thriller tv series. And even after all of this Cassian still has no hesitation to put down an enemy, even if they were once an ally. I’m so happy that they portray all these characters as being completely grey. With the exception of Nemik.😢 This show deserves as big of an audience as The Mandalorian.

@@GrimGearheart I think you’re spot on there. Even looking back at everything else he has done it becomes more obvious he was a snake. In earlier episodes, when everyone is focusing on the mission, he’s only obsessed with Andor’s motive, as he wants to know if he’s someone who is also out just to take the credits. His tattoos show that he’s been to at least one prison in his life. He identifies and knows the exact value of the Kyber crystal the moment he sees it, so clearly has some knowledge moving high value goods. In this episode he provides “covering fire” just long enough to get Taramin(?) to run out, but then leaves him to fend for himself.

This was the perfect episode for me. The tension, pace, the glorious visuals... and the DETAIL. Everything has a purpose and is not throwaway. How they bring in so much new, and make it so believable and real, just stuns me. The Dhanis were a great example. Fleshed out just enough to give real life to the extremely tense relationship with the local Imperials -- and that's a terrific portrait of the general attitude of the entire Empire. And how they squeezed even more character development *during* the action -- when things go wrong, Nemik steps up rather than shrinks away, and literally saves the whole mission, right to his last breaths. His death was so meaningful. If all this show does is introduce characters and make us care so much about them, then I am pretty much completely satisfied. That it's exceeding that with top notch storytelling and believable worldbuilding, and STUNNING visuals, just blows my mind.

Vel and Cinta were hinted at before. Skeen said that Cinta "was sharing a blanket" and the camera showed the two of them coming out of the shelter. She also got jealous of Cinta helping Cassian into his outfit and stepped between them during the flask sharing spot. Because ultimately she doesn't trust Cassian, while Cinta is trying to be helpful but Cassian is a bit of a "lover" based on Marwa's commentary.
@trendane2 жыл бұрын
Speaking of Cassian taking his cut and disappearing reminds me very much of Han and Luke's chat right before the Battle of Yavin. "So, you got your your reward and you're just leaving, then?" "That's right, yeah. I got some old debts I gotta pay off with this stuff." Which, Cassian kind of does. There are several people he owes money to back on Ferrix. And the manifesto could be the equivalent of Luke's line "You know what's about to happen, what they're up against." The biggest difference being, Luke and the Rebels know precisely what they need to do to stop the Empire's ultimate weapon. They have a powerful sense of hope that has been built upon the efforts of everyone who came before, including Cassian. Nemik's manifesto could be the start of that spark for Cassian. Especially since, in a way, Cassian could potentially come to feel partially responsible for Nemik's death (even though he really isn't). This show is just delicious.
@cozmicshroomzpro12 жыл бұрын
Imo this was definitely not a test from Skeen, he provided lazy cover for Tarramyn and let him get shot and he's shown zero care about Nemik and I think he purposefully diverts the group to the Doctor so he can make a play at taking the money with Cassian. This was a fantastic episode, really looking forward to how they're gonna mesh Saw and if we see Bix and if we ever see Cassian see his sister again.

That's also the way it was for a lot of the missions that the Rebels crew went on. For the most part because it was a "kid's" show, we didn't necessarily think horrible things were gonna happen. But because we hadn't seen any of those characters later in the canon, any of them could die at any point, which we did kinda see in season 4 with a particular character.

I think the manifesto will focus Cassian's anger into purpose. He's had this kind of directionless anger, since he was a kid, toward the Empire but it's never really been focused toward it. He's part survivor, part brother, part dissenter. The manifesto will give his anger a voice and allow him to realize he's been fighting this fight since he was a kid, he just could never admit to himself.

Great episode! Great heist! One theory I have is that the money from this heist will be the Alliance's start up capital. We've been hearing about a "foundation" that Mon Mothma has created as well as her talking about the Ghorman. As seen in other media (Rebels and books I think), it was the Ghorman Massacre that led to Mon Mothma publicly denouncing Palpatine and becoming the Rebel Alliance's leader. She'll definitely end up using this money to support the rebellion's efforts in some significant capacity

We already knew Vel and Centa were a couple from two episodes ago. Skeen tells Cassian that Vel is already sharing a blanket if he was wondering, and we see Vel and Centa coming out of a hut together. Also, Vel gets super jelly when Cassian is having Centa help him with his uniform and Vel tells Cassian he can dress himself. Wonderful writing, subtle, not hitting you over the head. This show is so good. As for Cassian, his cut was 250,000 credits, with the kyber crystal as a show of good faith being worth 30-50,000 credits (and a ship costs ~ 15,000, so let that all weigh in on the value of 250k in credits!).

Because in Rogue One he tells Jyn that the only way he can live with his past decisions is if he follows the Rebellion to the end. Because if his dedication isn’t 100%, then all his past actions were cruelty and not sacrifice.

I think if they care about character or race cameos of original characters, then Chewie/Wookies and R2D2 are the characters who would be best suited for appearances. The Wookies are a major part of the rebellion who I think have still been marginalized as to their presence and importance to the war in the stars. And R2D2 seems to be involved in almost every major development of the rebellion. Plus, so much of all these stories have focused on humans in the rebellion, but so much of the war effort for the rebels has depended on non human support.
