@@AlfredEiji the problem is that people were watch the first 2 episodes, but found the slow pace too slow and stopped watching, that is the feedback I am seeing Those like me who stuck with got the reward of episode 3 only to be let down by the even slower paced episodes 4 and 5 and just gave up. To be honest this episode is the first I have enjoyed from start to finish, it feels like Star Wars at last. So I don’t think people hearing how great the show is and starting watching in the future is going to change the amount of people who watch.

I love the duality between Luthen and Mon Motnma. In the end Mon mothma is a caring person that will never stop fighting for those in need. Even in her latter appearances such in rebels that much is evident. She’s still a humanitarian. personal, Warm, and empathetic. Yet is still willing to do some shady things as shown at that dinner part scene. Luthen by contrast is very distant, cold, and calculating. He didn’t have the decency to talk to Vel himself and wasn’t bother by the deaths in that heist. In fact he probably excepted Cassian to die and now to Luthen. Cassian is a disposable tool that’s now evidence out their in the galaxy. We got hints of rebellion in-fighting in rebels between Saw and Mothma. Glad to see that expanding in this series.

One of my favorite parts of this episode is that brief scene with Cassian getting sentenced because we've heard Imperials say before "cooperate and you'll get a trial" but we've never truly seen an example of the Imperial justice system and how it is basically you're guilty of what they say you're guilty of and you have no say in it. First of all, YULAREN! And I love the way they brought him in without it being just "look it's Yularen!" He's part of the story. He's serving the purpose his character would serve. And the entire idea of politics and backbiting within the Empire was shown really well here. Palpatine runs Kings Landing in space. He loves pitting people against each other to keep them from conspiring together against him Second, I really love we're already seeing the division within the rebel cells about how much action to take, and the sort of reluctance/passivism that Saw always had issue with in Mon already showing though, I do wonder where/when the connection between Mon and Bail gets made, knowing who she's trying to bring in now. Is he not yet funding her cell?

Yularen also said something like "This meeting is to decide how tight to grip our fists". Which corresponds well with what Mon Mothma said about how the Empire is choking the galaxy, but they just don't realize it. This is such good writing as it makes what Yularen said, that at face value is just a throwaway line to emphasize an already emphasized point, into a meaningful statement that goes with what the ISB stands for. A couple observations: - Good lord there was a lot of stuff going on in this episode. The script must have been about 300 pages of dialogue. - That banker looked way too much like a young Terence Stamp. He could easily have been cast as a young Chancellor Valorum. - This episode finally cleared up for me how Mon Mothma's name works. I think I was always confused by "Mon Calamari" as if "Mon" was some kind of honorific or title. But Mon is her first name, and Mothma is her last name. 39 years... now I can relax. - Obviously Cassian doesn't stay in jail for 6 years. - I don't think either of those droids was K-2SO. Just the same model. - Apparently the Empire still used clone armor for a while, especially on poor backwater planets. 7:34 - That piece right in the middle of the shot is a respirator mask like Plo Koon wears. Luthien's shop is like an upscale version of Dak Ondar's Den of Antiquities at Galaxy's Edge. - "It's so big." "It looks huge." (Don't make a dick joke...don't make a dick joke...) - The waitress at Mon's party goes to the same hairdresser as Governor Pryce! - The redheaded ISB guy from Ord Mandell looks like he was lifted right out of 1977. Way more than anyone else at that table.

Each opening title card for the series actually has a different but similar theme using different instrumentation. There's videos on KZbin that play one after another to compare, and even combine them into a single piece. This series was made with a lot of care and attention to detail. I like how he comes across as a professor with a bunch of students rather than as a dictator. It would make sense too, I'd that literally was what he was before the Empire, like a guy studying government and law enforcement management and got the job because he was already advocating what Palpatine wanted and how to do it.

This episode was amazing, like Eric said in one of the first episodes, it's amazing to just see the characters talking about shit. Mon Mothma with the "smile" while revealing herself to the old friend, Cassian talking with his mother about why she wouldn't leave, Luthen talking with Mon Mothma, it's just amazing👌

The budding rebellion needs money Mon Mothma: I’ll talk to my old friend about laundering my family fortune! Luthen: imma recruit a squad to knockoff a garrison under the cover of a rare planetary event without tellin you We’re getting two levels of Mon Mothma - we’re seeing how good she is to hide in plain site as a future a rebel leader; but we’re also seeing her struggle to commit to action. Luthen doesn’t quite seem Saw level ruthless but he clearly wants to push toward open rebellion, inciting the galaxy to take up arms, bankrolling what I assume will be a network of spied and soldier, and probably buying weapons. Mon is still worried about civilian casualties

I hope that Cyril gets a chance to work for the rebellion. If you think about it, imagine the chaos that could be caused by having rebels working in the imperial standards department. It's hard enough to get standardization in our world today, but imagine tens of thousands of worlds spread out over the galaxy. If you think it's not important, look up the standardization of screw threads, types and sizes.

I know it is a small thing, but I really loved the little drops of Palpatine being brought up in this episode, just establishing his presence I thought was a great touch. I hope (although I know we won't) we get a bit of Palpatine in the series, not evil Sith stuff but the political Palpatine.

I believe Cassian will have his best chance at reprogramming K2SO after the prison escape. The trailer shows Cassian escaping prison without any help, in the shot he uses a security spike to open a door while wearing prison clothes and starts ushering other prisoners out. My theory is he will escape prison on an Imperial ship after he breaks out, where low and behold K2SO will be in an unpowered state stowed on the ship. Cassian could spend the last 2-3 episodes trying to reprogram him only to truly get K2SO up and running in the last episode and send him in to save the day.

That last shot of Syril was what I was expecting ever since seeing him walking through that office. He's one of many, merely a spec in this bureaucrat bullshit of an organization. I'm sure he's destined for more in the show but it's nice to see that someone can come out of the more unexpected places. Not everyone is already a high-at-the-top, big dog chief, you have to start somewhere, sometimes that is just in a shitty cubicle

@@hellfish2309 I mean, it's more realistic than most promotions where a janitor can become the head of the company and immediately give orders. I'm not one to fawn when things are "realistic" but I like that all he's ever done is trying to do his job, two men were murdered, in any other SW property that's a two second scene, here it's his whole motivation for doing what he's doing

In the scene where Andor is sentenced, the room is no doubt hot, because there is a fan blowing air. I love how Star Wars is a mish-mash of high-tech, low-tech and no-tech. All mouse droids have the same programming they just have a natural hierarchy that determines right of way, they get out of the way when a person is more important than them like 99.9% of people or force others to get out of the way when they are a less important person like Cyril.

I don't know about the time of the Empire but the Republic Measures & Standards Bureau was a thing - It was a branch of the Government that was responsible for maintaining common units of measurement, such as time etc. I think they're only ever really mentioned because they where behind the Great ReSynchronization. But this is all Legends stuff anyway.
