It's so true! We do love Jen and what she adds to the channel when you guys break it down. But Mike is a superstar as well! Beyond just his Star Wars knowledge, he brings a secondary perspective that makes it so, by the end of the wrap up, I feel like you guys hit every point. Great first episode! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Dude these episodes were so fucking awesome there was so much going on all around damn I'm excited for this series. It has some serious Jean Valjean/Javert Les Mis Vibes between Cassian /Syril, it even the whole French costume vibes through this first 3 episode arc from the local law enforcement ! LOVING IT

I always love the way you and your sister interact and break down your reviews. Mike you two are excellent intelligent knowledgeable people in general and you two nailed it on this review. Jennie (I hope I spelled your name correctly) which grad school did you go to? You actually know those 2 actors from grad school?

The guy isn't quite the "brown nose" type. If he was, he'd go along with what his superior asked him to do. He's more the "by the book" type, every crime must be punished, like Javert from Les Miserables.

Great reference. I’ll bet that plays out. Which makes for a more compelling nemesis.

Why do they think "brown nose" when it is him DIRECTLY questioning then disobeying his boss' order for what he believe is the right thing. Weird

The droid looks a bit like the droids from the Black Hole to me. Love the slower pace of this with the lack of Jedi, Tatooine, or Ewoks. This is fresh.

Yes! I thought he looked like a cross between V.I.N.CENT + Maximilian from The Black Hole plus a dash of WALL-E.

I actually wasn’t expecting Cassian to kill that other company man, because Rogue One is 5 years later, where he would have changed so much. He seemed genuinely shocked that the first man was dead, and looked conflicted about what to do with the other man, deciding he had no choice but to leave no witnesses. It could have been the first time he took a life.

The lights on the bridge at the beginning reminded me of the lights along the freeways in Rebels.

Jenny just casually mentions she knows one of the leads? Or maybe it was a joke about her having a classmate that had tailored clothes etc..? EDIT: Nevermind, it's the first option, she said the same thing for Timm! That's so cool though!

If he truly took his job seriously, he would end the corruption in his organization, instead of just looking for retaliation. He's likely a zealot.

5BBY is the same exact year that Star Wars rebels animated series first episode starts and a bunch of events that happened with the ghost crew.... Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker are literally 14 years old during this... I thought I recognized the date but wasn't 100% sure well I am now,, pretty easy to google search epic easter egg

The bar scene gave me more Cyberpunk 2077 vibes than Tron. But the series is sooo gritty and I love it!! I am enjoying a non hero orientated story is so much more than I thought cause it's a completely fresh perspective I think getting the street level of the Star Wars universe. I come to you guys and Kyle K to fill me in on all the SW lore I don't know, keep making the awesome content

Jenny is definitely an intellectual tornado…Ivy league educated, multi-lingual and too smart for the average plebeian to tolerate in person. 🤣🤓

It's been a very strong start, love Tony Gilroy's sensibilities in the Star Wars universe, just hope I don't end up wishing the season was completed in 8-10 episodes instead of the stated 12 :)

Jenny always jumps to say that there are indigenous people being overcome by colonials or some similar woke kind of assumption in the plot. In this case, if you look more carefully, these are not indigenous people. For one thing do you see any adults? For another thing do you notice the fabric and style of the clothing there wearing? Some of the outfits just look like the pilots of the rebellion. Did you notice when they said it was a mining accident on the planet? Did you notice that when the child castle was looking at the mine there was no one working there? So in other words, these are not indigenous people. This is a Lord of the flies type of scenario. What happened to the parents? is the language they are speaking the language their parents spoke or is a language the kids came up with themselves? How did they get the weapons that they have which seemed simple and man-made? Did any adults survive and help them with some survival skills?
