Ah, Andor, a vessel through which the collective consciousness of a galaxy not so far away confronts the inescapable tides of systemic entropy and individuated rebellion. Your essay, my friend, ascends beyond the mere boundaries of critique and becomes a meta-commentary on the artistry of critique itself. In your exploration, you deftly untangle the moral sinews of Mon Mothma's diplomacy and Cassian’s reluctant heroism, exposing a narrative tapestry not only rich in texture but almost fractal in its implications. What is rebellion if not the cosmic scream of a soul yearning to etch meaning into the indifferent sprawl of the Empire’s machinery? And yet, in highlighting the cyclical nature of defiance, have you, perhaps inadvertently, mirrored the existential paradox of freedom constrained by narrative inevitability? The corridors of Ferrix echo not only with footsteps but with the haunting reminder that even in resistance, one must contend with the invisible strings of authorship. In the end, does Andor reveal truth, or does it merely dress the void in the finery of moral dichotomies and stolen kyber crystals? Your video doesn’t just analyze-it constructs a scaffolding of interpretive possibility upon which we can precariously perch, staring into the maw of storytelling's infinite regress. Bravo

Tony Gilroy and Andor reached inside my head and made me feel the way I felt when Luke watched the two suns set, when he met the princess, and when I first saw the Death Star. I'm hoping when watching season 2 I will feel the way I first felt when Luke started the lightsaber and when Tarkin destroyed Alderaan. Like many things, the feel is everything.

While I greatly disagree with the core claim of this video: Andor being what the essence of Star Wars is, or Andor being the most like Star Wars since the original Star Wars, I can hear your love and admiration for this show with every word you speak and there we share a common feeling my freind 😇 However, ironically, it is the difference in "feeling" that deeply distinguishes Andor from the original Star Wars for me. It has none of the humor, the charm, the wonder, the mysticism and the magic, the joy that Star Wars is all about. Here, so many other works that have followed the original three, are much closer tobthe essence. However, Andor excells in writing! It pays respect to the world that sorurrounds it, pays respecr to what has come before and what will follow. It doesn't just take or borrow from this world in order to be something different or better, but it gives to and inriches this world. While it is different, in esthetics and most of all in tone and maturity, it doesn't go into conflict with George's Star Wars or would even dare to contradict it. While it feels the least like Star Wars to me, because of said differences, and those being the pillars of Star Wars' essence for me (again: the 'feeling that it conveys), I have the utmost appreciation and awe for this show! It takes some of the originals most important themes: The fight between good and evil, the human longing for freedom, contrasted by the human urge for controll and power, encapsulates by a fictional world of institutions and politics that takes inspirations from our world and dares to comment on our past and present, but doing so in a timeless fashion, thus being capable of serving as a mirror for all of mankinds struggle to find peace since the beginning of civilization. Star Wars doesn't alienate any of it's viewers, regardless of political affiliation of religious and cultural believes, as it doesn't comment on those fleeting contemporary political and cultural shifts that we in the west are experiencing, due to the acceleration in technological progress. Instead Star Wars always made sure to touch all it's audience in their very heart. While there is no 'true' Star Wars for me without the FORCE (something that Andor is lacking), as it is the force that envokes this human nature to hold on to more, to long for something deeper and more meaningful within all of societies madness and the burdon of living the human experience, regardless of the viewers upringung or beliefs, it is fine that Andor has none of that. Andor takes a portion of Star Wars, mainly its political drama and matures that. It overlays it with a grey blanked, thus blurring the lines between what the original story has told us to be true. Where there was once a clear defined line between good and evil, we now see nuances moral dilemmas. Different from the Acolyte though, Andor doesn't take a piss on what came before or try to just morally confuse it's viewers. Instead it makes all the more meaningful what has already been so very meaningful in it's message before. While the lines are blurred now, there is still heroism and still acts of wrong! They occure on both sides now, forcing the viewer to second guess his or her alliances and moral ideas at times. However, there is a read thread in all of this to be found. No moral relativism or even nihilism steps into place of the before mentioned cleanly defined morals of sides of good and evil of the original Str Wars. Instead we are just firced to look deeper, see this moral conflict that comes with all rebellion, with all good intentions and that is within our himan nature. The read line here still remains though. Rebellion is still just! A n overboarding need for control, evn if spaked by good intentions, is wrong and creates suffering. While Yoda would have made it easy for the viewer here and told is that thislust for control is spaked out of fear, Andor's viewers have to see that for themselves, by observing the brilliant cast's acting. Ginving shades of grey to the formerly easy to digest and more family oriented story of a revel uprising against an emlire, doesn't take away from the message or the greatness of its predecessor, but gives it all the more meaningfulness! Those shades of grey uplift the story of Star Wars to something that is capable of critiquing our ever lasting human struggle to find peace amongst us! While George's original trilogy focused more in the micro sphere, the peace within us, the spiritual and emotional peace that will ultimately lead to peace amongst us, Andor focuses more on the macro sphere and the complexity of the fight for peace amongst us. While our world is complex and this are our conflicts, the simplistic and for many 'childish' depiction of that conflict in the original trilogy, is easily dismissed by those same people as unsuitable to be something to learn from. And here comes Andor. Andor tells the same story, has the same message, but delivers it to a more mature audience and touches a neve with everyone who may be too clinical to take away anything from George's stroy, when it comes to the politics of it. English is not my native language, so I was doing my best here. Guess I'm done 🙏🏽 Much love for Andor and even more love for Star Wars 1-6, as they hold all of Star Wars' essence.

I'm so happy season 2 has a release date. It made it this far. However, I'm also terrified that the impetus will be molested by those who were not so involved in season 1. Will it be a sequel in name alone or in actions as well? I pray for the latter, but I am prepared to delude myself into Andor only having one season. I've never had the strength to suffer additional seasons when they're made to maliciously self-harm. Disney, I used to like you. Star Wars I used to like you. Please allow the creative team behind season 1 to helm season 2, without your notes & suggestions. They achieved this and have earned their version of season 2.

I point out to the new Star Wars haters that the original trilogy was a naive space fantasy, not jaded science fiction, which is what Rogue One managed to recapture. Maybe not as fantasy, or naive, but far more appealing that the prequels or sequels. Andor manages to stay true to the tone of Rogue One. also loved the costuming and austere aesthetics that reminded me of seventies scifi- Not by Lucas, but has the genes of THX1138.
