Andora does have an Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell Airport: La Seu d'Urgell airfield opened in 1982 but was closed to commercial traffic in 1984 and was used only by private aircraft until 2008, when the airport was purchased by the Catalan government and closed pending its redevelopment and reopening as a commercial airport.[1][2] In 2008, the Institut Català del Sòl (a department of the Catalan government) bought 85% of the airport's land to create Pirineus-La Seu d'Urgell Airport.[2] In 2009, a contract was awarded to Acsa Sorigué for the redevelopment work towards reopening the airport.[3] The airport reopened on 4 June 2010.[4] In the first year there was a total of 1,751 flights, with more than 3,000 people on board. An agreement between the Catalan government and the Principality of Andorra, located 12 km away, was reached in 2014 to rename the facility Andorra-La Seu d'Urgell Airport following financial investment from Andorra. And two railway station: The nearest railway station is L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre 10 km (6 mi) east of Andorra which is on the 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in)-gauge line from Latour-de-Carol (25 km or 16 mi) southeast of Andorra, to Toulouse and on to Paris by the French high-speed trains. This line is operated by the SNCF. Latour-de-Carol has a scenic 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 3⁄8 in) metre gauge trainline to Villefranche-de-Conflent, as well as the SNCF's 1,435 mm gauge line connecting to Perpignan, and the RENFE's 1,668 mm(5 ft 5 21⁄32 in) -gauge line to Barcelona.[181][182] There are also direct Intercités de Nuit trains between L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre and Paris on certain dates.[183] I checked Wikipedia.

However, we left by the only highway into France. The traffic was so heavy that it took us hours to go only a few kilometers. It was still rural back then with sheep herders blocking traffic. It is just not for all. I would be absolutely ok with this kind of life style. Mordern people have become so addicted to the noise of big cities that they feel uncomfortable in such calm places like this one. Empty people, who need bread and circuses just to be filled by something from beyond. Sorry if i sound to grave. Anyway anytime you want you may visit big cities in Fance or Spain. Barcelona, for example. The real question is the job there. Not many working places, huh? Not for all occuations at least. But it is fine for travel business.

I wonder what the nationality of the narrator might be. His voice contains so many accents from east coast USA to Spanish and Arabic? I am a linguist who lives in Asia and Europe, so am very curious. Thank you.

Hi Alan. You're a linguist living in Asia and Europe, that's awesome and interesting. I speak english, german, portugese, spanish, some french and dutch as well. I wonder if you'd be able to guess my nationality if we'd talk with each other ☺

This is one of the most unbalanced and incorrect videos I have ever seen about Andorra. In fact possibly damaging due to the inaccuracy of the information. There are 77000 aprox residents, almost 43000 passports and it is NOT a tax haven as there are agreements set in place to exchange tax information with all the main European countries as well as 20 or more non-European. The month with the highest density of tourists is August. It is absolutely Not ethnically catalans! The andorran residents do not speak English well at all, in fact many are limited to only castellano! I'll leave it at that... though I could continue. Please revise the "off". Thank you.
@catalannationalist98474 жыл бұрын
Native Andorrans are ethnically catalans, there's no mistake on that.
@mickybcn74534 жыл бұрын
Only castellano? ,then they are not andorrans,only Spanish who live in Andorra because the official language of Andorra is catalan not Spanish,and the young people of Andorra speak catalan,Spanish and many of they English and French.

Andorra was created/formed in 13th century when rich people didn't need tax havens....and rest of those small countries hail more or less from same period.....so that makes your statement stupid and ignorant
