I often turn the radio on softly to go to sleep. Even as I doze in and out I catch snippets of things. In a near lucid moment I thought I heard the ending of Scheherazade and the announcer describing "we have just heard a chamber arrangement of...." I thought I must have been dreaming and combining it with the radio. So I looked it up and INDEED there is a14-player modern arrangement of Rimsky's masterpiece of orchestration and composition. If the budget isn't there for the full-throated original version here's Plan B.@@MistralChamberMusic

hi again!@@violadamore2-bu2ch do you know which radio station played it? We are in Boston but I didn't think my WCRB (whom I know well) would play an arrangement of this. Was it our performance?

exactly! @@violadamore2-bu2ch It may surprise you to learn we have done Mahler 1 and Mahler 4 with the same number of players..:)

Yes, I AM surprised. I just remembered that some of the Second Viennese School composers made condensed orchestrations to promote themselves and others. As I said I was half asleep, but I DID hear snippets of Scheherazade and the announcer say "Scheherazade' and "chamber" in the same breath but I didn't catch the performers. My local public radio station carries "Music Through the Night" with Peter van de Graaf from WFMT, Chicago. I looked through the WFMT play lists for this past Sunday and Monday 10/29, 10/30, 12am to 6am but couldn't find Scheherazade. Would they have played the audio from your video performance? I could be mistaken about what I heard but I do know my music like I know my name. No, I can't say who the performers were, I missed that part.
