Thank you very much. The answer to that is twofold. Firstly, when I have time; and Secondly, when someone brings me. I’d love to a seminar in Mexico in the future, but both of the two aforementioned are presently not happening. I must first complete previously booked seminars in South Africa, Germany and Portugal. Early next year, in January, the chance to book new seminars will be opened. But, again, thank you very much for your interest. Another option, which is easier, is for karateka to come for training here in Japan at my dojo. Best wishes from Oita City, Japan. Osu, Andre

It’s a pity that he, with his ability, never learned true SHURI -TE on Okinawa
@soundmind25552 жыл бұрын
In the spirit of a warrior, it’s important to respect another’s martial art, provided that it’s taught with honesty and dignity. I’m not sure which ryu is being demonstrated (Shotokan?). But I would bet my menjo that it’s derived (like numerous other systems) from Shuri-te, Naha-te, and Tomari-te. If there ever was a “true” Shuri-te (there is no proof such purity existed), it has surely evolved into a more efficient discipline, due to the refinements of subsequent, well-respected teachers of Shotokan, Shito-ryu, Gojo-ryu, and others.

Aoihheann Ni Bhroin It worked when I was bouncer then professional body guard. I experienced a lot of street fights. Basics are just basics. But they help us to learn how to be optimally efficient. I officially retired from competition at 30 years old, had a ‘forced comeback’ in my late 30s, and I’m now 46. I have cross trained with many styles and arts, so I’d never make a comment like you have. Trolling is an embarrassment to yourself. Grow up
@David-ku7mt2 жыл бұрын
Karate ni sente nashi. Karate-do is a way of life and not an over aggressive combat sport where you have no respect (trash talk and hitting an unconscious opponent). Do not embarrass yourself with such comments.
@aoibheannnibhroin99512 жыл бұрын
@@andrebertel They are weak persons in streets. Any fighting system is good against those who never practiced a close combat lessons. I was talking about professional fighters. I was learning Shotokan three years. When I visited a school of Goju Ryu, I understood, how Shotokan is useless. After I was learning Goju Ryu also 3 years, I got to know, it didn't work at Kudo competition. Though, I agree with you that everybody should learn some pure fighting system first before to join MMA.
@aoibheannnibhroin99512 жыл бұрын
@@David-ku7mt It is freedom of speech. I share my thoughts, you do yours. For me a close combat system exist for two reasons. The first reason is to stay healthy and fit. The other reason is to leave you to lay on a ground in blood if you decide to annoy me.
@David-ku7mt2 жыл бұрын
@@aoibheannnibhroin9951 Sure. Join the military and go on a killing spree with high-tech weapons and MMA skills in some poor country if you want to see blood. Sarcasm off here. Man.. The whole 'macho' thing has nothing to do with a martial art so your comments just don't make any sense. I hope you don't get annoyed because my Kyokushin skills might not work against a mighty opponent like you. 😅
@MarcelN19802 жыл бұрын
Impressive. However: no shin kicks. No uppercuts. No face protection, bobbing or weaving. Let's see you do that in a MuayThai match. Or inside an MMA cage. Just a friendly bout. Nothing fancy.
@thomaskwiatkowskiesq.3282 жыл бұрын
Jesus H Christ, not again. How many times you people have been told that karate has nothing to do with these silly notions of competition? It works as by far the best art for civilian defense against criminal attack, and that's why people study it, among other reasons, but certainly not to fight in some "cage".
@MarcelN19802 жыл бұрын
@@thomaskwiatkowskiesq.328 Of courrse it has nothing to do with anything else than a (not even great) way of keeping in shape. Won't give you cardio, strength or any useful fighting skills. Except for teaching discipline and a small amount of mental fortitude, maybe some proprioception. If you learn boxing for a year under a serious trainer, you're faaaaaar better than these sci-fi moves. 1. no real trained fighter will keep his chin up. I can bet my life on this. I've yet to see a kickboxer/boxer/MMA practitioner which does this idiotic "keeping my chin up" positioning. It's 101 in ANY full contact gym. A trained figher will absolutely destroy you, you are NOT Machida or GSP. And they trained in boxing (latter with Freddie Roach). 2. While I DO appreciate the "hook" - or Mawashi Zuki, it's totally different from what a boxer does. Why would you lock the punch at the end?! 3. Where is the head movement in all these fancy demos? Why do you use the weaker part of the legs when kicking, instead of the shin? Why do you throw your hands flailing like that? who does this? 4. The old "karate not for competition" is BS. Put your money where your mouth is. IF Karate is "GREAT" against a criminal (maybe against one which never trained in full contact fights before) than DEFINITELY it should work when there's 'only' a trophy at stake. If it works for defending your life, why is is it that 99% of the "amazing" black belts in these non-contact make-believe martial arts get their asses kicked when facing a decent kickboxer, nevermind a Muay Thai practitioner? Practiced Shotokan for more than 10 years, and saw Kagawa, Kasuya, and other Japanese masters IRL at various seminars. Saw Kanazawa Jr before the pandemic hit. Nevertheless, despite the amazing technical skills, for the life of me, WHY would you practice an almost useless exercise such as Kata in 2022?! why wouldn't you EVER practice head movement? why would you keep your hands down? Flailing your arms against someone which keeps his hands down may work on paper, but these "will crush your windpipe/eyes/genitals" fantasies are just that: fantasy. Go to any BJJ/grappling gym, you'll have a rude awakening As I did. If it works, it will DEFINITELY work in simple moves, which you can and should perform just as well under the stress. Guess what? boxing will save your ass just as well. Or even better. Without the pretenses of multiple opponent fighting and BS.
