His assists were genius in two ways. First is the vision. From an elevated view after he’s made it it looks obvious, but to be pitch level and have everyone so perfectly mapped out in a split second to see it is Jedi stuff. Then the ability to pull the passes off. They may look like simple 10-12 yard balls, but the weight of the pass and the bend to get it the only place it needs to go is art.

Iniesta and Xavi were the best couple of midfielders for a long time, and a great support for Messi. If Messi had decided to accept the Spanish citizenship, he would have had multiple World Cup titles with the Spanish team, which consisted of some of the best players of Barcelona and Real Madrid! Imagine a national team made up of Messi, David Villa, Iniesta, Xavi, Sergio Ramos, Puyol, Casillas, etc! Best offense, best midfield, best defense, and best goal keeper in the world! That's why when people were saying Messi needed a World Cup to be accepted as the GOAT, it made no sense at all. All it takes is for a great player to be on a great team (like Mbappe's situation as a French national).

Don't write GOAT. I love Iniesta to bits. I had goosebumps watching him live. I cried when he sat in the center of Camp Nou when he left. But don't use the word GOAT. It's losing all meaning and you're part of the reason. He is one of the best who ever played on his position but he, very clearly to everyone educated, is not the greatest of all time. Please don't call anyone that if you're not prepared to back the claim up.
