Rares sont les batteurs qui ont leur "propre style" Dédé Ceccarelli fait parti de ceux là... Un toucher, un feeling ,un swing et un groove bien à lui...En France ,depuis des années (1974) , j'ai eu trois idoles (plus, bien d'autres batteurs, qui m'ont souvent également conseillés) André Ceccarelli, Daniel Humair et Christian Vander ,aujourd'hui une nouvelle génération arrive qui est héritière de ces trois Artistes , ce qui est très positif...Aller Dédé...Longue vie à toi et continue de nous enchanter le plus longtemps possible !

Michael, I couldn't agree more with you. To me, he sounds like the hottest young kid from NYC, etc... and yet the greatest of all things jazz drummers of all ages... Best combination of Wildness, Rawness and Balls... combined with Refinement, Technique and Musicality. A TRUE Master Drummer. Best Tuning, Tone from his Touch (Best Ears) His recordings are often immaculate sonically. He's the Rolls Royce, late 60's muscle car, race car and dump truck combined. Drumming Magic, IMO. Out of curiosity. How are you learning from him...?? Just by watching videos here and recording, etc. or are you learning from his videos up on imusic-school.com or isyourteacher.com ??? Andre has video courses up on those 2 sites. I've been considering to try one or both of them. I'm just curious if you have tried either or both or have sought him out for private lessons, etc. I don't speak French (at all) and I don't see much evidence that he speaks much English. : o Thanks : )

This man is awesome. Why is he unknown?This is an insane musician. Pure.He forces you into a certain headspace. Very cerebral. Very tribal. Very knowledgeable, His drumming is interdimensianal and speaks with out words.Omg amazing. Perfect.

Merci Maestro Ceccarelli !!! je vous ai vue bien souvent en concert avec Thierry Eliez (Piano, Keyboard) et Jean Marc Jaffet (Bass) sur Lyon et a Jazz a Vienne dans les années 90, et l'avant dernière fois c'etait avec Dee Dee Bridgewater, et la dernière fois vous etiez en master classe, et je trouve que Paco Sery a raison, Dédé tu nous racontes de Magnifique histoires de Tambour, un immense Respect pour vous monsieur Ceccarelli !!! Bravo !!!!!

C'est un as! Perso, j'aime bien quand les solos tournent autour d'une rythmique qui revient et des roulements entre puis retour sur la base rythmique ça me parle plus que des roulements seuls

That left hand whip followed by his finger control on the bounces is maybe the best I've ever seen. Just a half whip at first, then he uses his fingers to keep the rebound strokes evenly metered and just as loud. Okay, that's enough I'll never play the drums again. Bastard!
