Una melodía que no sólo se debería entonar a militares, muy por el contrario, a toda persona cristiana que cree en Dios, Todopoderoso, porque este estilo va más allá de ideologías militares.. es verdaderamente un poema musical celestial y que no importa el credo religioso, es una alabanza a la vida, presente, futuro y pasado. Si creemos en una avenida de Nuestro Creador, esta música sería la antesala de su presentación. Gracias por compartir tan magna interpretación.

First heard this by Nini Rosso when I was a child, my mum was Italian born and raised in Iesi near Ancona and met my dad during the war, she was in tears when she heard this. Both mum and dad have passed now, but whenever I hear this tune I get very sentimental, I love it🙏❤️

My little Italian Mother was in Napoli (Naples) when the Americans routed the enemy and freed them from Nazi rule. She came to the USA and lived the rest of her life here (RIP Oct ‘21). I found this talented young lady, Melissa Venema, and let Mom hear it. When it started playing she recognized it immediately and just began sobbing the entire time. She would say, “They were just boys”, referencing the dead young men witnessed over the many years of the war. God Bless those who sacrificed their lives so we could be free.

As an Aussie who is an avid supporter of our ANZAC tradition, I play this each and every ANZAC Day on the 25th April as I find this tune the closest to the last post traditionally played at every ANZAC Day memorial and every digger's funeral. I find this version by Melissa Vanemma is so poignant and played with such feeling it cannot but get everyone's emotions going. Well done Melissa and I wish you every success with your performances as well as hoping you may visit us 'down under' in the not too distant future.

The first time I heard this song was in 1967 in GERMANY. For a long time it was the only place I could find it. In the past 25 years I have enjoyed more finding played more. As an American we call it taps. No matter what you call it is a great song.
