Amazing walz composed by a Serb 🇷🇸, who was born in Timisoara ( present Romania), Jovan lvanovic ( Јован Ивановић or Josef Ivanovic or losif lvanovici or lon lvanovic). He composed it in 1880. In USA , it is frequently referred to as " The Anniversary Song ".

It is misspelled. The composition is by Serbian composer Josif Ivanovic, who studied and worked in Bucharest. He is one of the most beautiful waltzes in the world, and Pet Bun sang and gave wonderful verses.
@lauracojocaru11294 жыл бұрын
You are telling lies... For god sake. He was a general in the Romanian army, not the austro-hungarian or the serbian but general FOR THE ROMANIAN ARMY. All his composition has been dedicated not to serbian culture or austro-hungarian culture but to ROMANIAN CULTURE. Titles like "Romanian Heart". "Marsul lui Carol 1". "Carmen Sylva" ."Bucharest Waltz" or "La Bella Roumaine Waltz". Look at his reportoire: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion_Ivanovici Nothing in his music list is dedicated to Serbian people or her culture. NOTHING! Every title has a connection to Romania. IT`S CLEAR. Despite his serbian origin he was completely Romanian in his soul and mind. Which is the most important thing. HIS MUSIC LISTS say so. Probably you serbs need to be more keen to Romanian culture with it´s music and literature. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ion Ivanovici or Iosif Ivanovici Born: 1845 - Timișoara, Died: 8 September 1902 (aged 56-57) in Bucharest, Romania Occupation - composer/conductor Ion Ivanovici (alternatively: Jovan Ivanović, Iosif Ivanovici, Josef Ivanovich) (1845 - 28 September [O.S. 16 September] 1902) was a Romanian military band leader and composer of Banat serbian origin, best remembered today for his waltz Waves of the Danube. Ivanovici was born in Timișoara. His interest in music began after he learned to play a flute given to him when he was a child. Ivanovici moved to and lived most of his life in Kingdom of Romania, Galați. Reaching the rank of officer in the Romanian army, his interest in military music culminates during his appointment as general inspector of military songs in 1900. In 1901 he settled in Bucharest where he died a year later. Although today Ivanovici is chiefly remembered for his waltz "Waves of the Danube" ("Donauwellen" in German, "Flots du Danube", in French), in his lifetime he composed over 300 works (many of them lost today). Other notable compositions are "Carmen Sylva" waltz, dedicated to Queen Elisabeth of Romania; "Romanian heart" waltz op 51 ("Inimă română" in Romanian , "Cordialité roumaine" in French).

What is the problem with the fact that this is a Serbian composer? That he was born on the Moon, his origin is important. There is no Romanian of Serbian origin in Serbia - you are either Romanian or some other nationality (Serb, Russian, Slovak, Hungarian ...) I guess you also have a composer of your own ... I think he is of Romanian origin ... After all, the place where he was born did not belong to Romania at that historical moment. ( Albert Camus as born in Algeria - and what is her origin?)
