YES, it's a french christmas song "Minuit, Chrétiens" played for the 1st time 24 Dec 1847 in France.. and it was sung 1st time in French Canada (Quebec city) in 1853. it's a part of the folklore now, it's the greatest classique of Noël in French. Sing in the Midnight Mass, by the elder man of the parish - it was a great source of pride and honnor to sing that famous song in front of your community. Lot of pressure to reach out and hold the famous note at the end as well ! =) We were all waiting that moment! "Ô, Holy Night" will be done in 1853 and Ô, Divine Night in 1885 I don't find the english versions give justice of the french version ...
