The new extended version of Jonas Kaufmann’s holiday album, 'It’s Christmas’, includes 7 new festive songs and celebrates the most beautiful time of the year! His selection of 49 Christmas songs from around the world, includes newly recorded intimate alpine “Stubenmusi” duets with mezzo-soprano Stefanie Irányi, performed in an original folk ensemble setting. The recording includes Silent Night, O Holy Night, Adeste fideles, White Christmas, Let it Snow! and many more. Jochen Rieder conducts the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg playing traditional carols while conductor Wieland Reissman, trumpeter Till Brönner & the Cologne Studio Big Band swing to the American holiday classics.

Probably a lot of Americans listening here don't even realize English is NOT his first language! Yet Jonas "nails it", in my opinion. He has an "all-American" voice in his singing here. Bravo! PS Besides that, the strength and tone of Mr. Kaufman's voice is SO appealing! And he tops it all off by his apparent, incredibly sweet, good nature that always seems to shine through in his performances!

@@johnfalstaff2270 Different preferences. He's certainly good, accomplished. But somehow bland. Mario Lanza had a stronger, more passionate voice, in my opinion. Still, I prefer Kaufman's deeper, more resonant, more personal voice. Enough said!

​@@walterscott2286, You must be kidding by saying that Kaufman's voice is deeper, more resonant. Resonant with the help of modern stereo electronic devices. Kaufman has no voice at all. Metropolitan Opera recently promotes him because there are not any new talented young tenors presently on a vocal horizon. Business must go on so they made him up as a star. His voice is awful in whatever he sings. For comparison listen to Mario del Monaco, Franco Corelli, Carlo Bergonzi, Jussi Bjorling, Placido Domingo or Bulgarian Nikola Nikolov. The sad fact is that they all are dead by now. I keep them all in my private collection and nobody else. Lanza had a beautiful voice but his renditions of sacred songs are poor. Ave Maria is not good at all. Obviously not enough training because Hollywood sucked him for their own show business.

Die Dresden-Version von 2008 finde ich noch schöner, klingt irgendwie harmonischer zusammen. Wenn Engel mit Stimme und Instrumenten Geist und Seele erfreuen und bereichern. Welch ein harmonisches wunderbares Zusammenwirken, wunderschön!
