I used to live in this building in South Granville! I recognize the blue exterior. I learned that the little door at the side of the front entrance was used to drop off your shoes so someone could polish them.

Love this apartment ... your aesthetic and style really suit your adorable personality. South Granville is one of my favourite neighbourhoods to visit ... Indigo, Pottery Barn and Meinhardt are our stops when we are in the city. We are happy to be returning to Vancouver after living in Pemberton for the last 4 years ... this summer, can't hardly wait!

You really have quite a knack for decorating and could be a interior designer as well. And you also have a really great knack for finding good finds at good prices. Good for you! Loved the old charm of this place, the bathroom tiled floor and that built in chest of drawers and medicine cabinet, unique! Also , love the French doors which we also had in one of our homes, built in 1928. Too bad you had to move from here as far as the interior goes! Thanks for sharing~ looking forward to seeing other homes you live in and decorate as well. Best of luck~

At one time many of the buildings in the West End had trash shoots. That might be what the little door was used for. The small niche in the hallway was probably for the phone; they were mounted on the wall. Lovely apartment, and great thrifty finds.

We are presently shopping around for homes and we are looking at character homes and some of them have radiators and it makes me a bit nervous. How do you find them? Thank you. :)

thank you!!! thrifting is the best! Especially when you are moving to different countries so often like us. I really loved the radiator heating, plus it looks really cool too! I live in Victoria, and I know apartments this size go for insane amounts of money here, so I can't even imagine how much this costed in rent in Van! It's stunning though. vintage buildings are a lot quieter that new builds. nice thrifting.......don't need the gory details of "things" & why u have them...space is nice & has a lot of light. Yep mess on the floor .Designer Tip: place shelves on ur wall for "designer handbags & special shoes..get them off the floor & treat them like art work. Put the small chest right under the window. Tip: 2 corner units under the sink will & can be used for storage space. PLEASE Feng Shui your toilet lid down!!! Yikes!!! Living Room w/ all the French Doors make the apartment..Put the mirror IN the fireplace to reflect the candles. Place the dining carpet on an angle. Fix the 'dead chair' & use it in the desk area. Kitchen is perfect ....larger that what you get in NYC. Space is awesome
